Texas???

We live in Fort Worth, and if you're looking for a more typical "TX experience" I would NOT go to Dallas. The east side of the metroplex is stuffed full of snotty people who have forgotten what being a Texan is all about (sorry).

You HAVE to go to the Fort Worth Stockyards. Start dinner at the Lonesome Dove (rather expensive, but worth every penny). Stop at the White Elephant on the corner of North and Main to have a few drinks. Then make your way to Billy Bobs TX singers are always playing there. They have the mechanical bull, the biggest dance floor ever, and bull riding in the bar (though amature, still okay). Stay at the Stock Yards hotel. It's amazingly beautiful! Each room has its own theme, and it's one of the oldest standing hotels in the area. FYI - My fiancee and I meet at Cadillacs in North Main ST.

Next day, drive down New Braunsfuls and go float the river. If you're looking for a crazier time, float the Guadalupe. If you want something more quiet then float the Comal. Basically, you rent a tube, sit in it all day, drink beer and get wasted! It's so much fun, you'll have a blast.

BBQ - yes, Rudy's is great, but it's a chain. On your drive back to the Metroplex, take highway 67 up through Marble Falls (soooo beautiful) and stop at Hard 8's in Stephenville. I guarnatee it is the BEST DANG BBQ you will ever have in your life.

Let us know how it goes. Feel free to contact me if you want!

Good call on driving up through Marble Falls Jenna. That Hill Country drive is so pretty!

All of this Texas talk is making me crave a hot July day, floating on the Comal with an ice cold frosty beverage in hand, singing at the top of my lungs to Robert Earl Keen!!!! Summer where are you?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
