Sirenis La Salina Brides-Past and Present

There is a ton of info on this board, but not much on the resort that I am strongly considering for our Feb. 2011 wedding! I get jealous looking on the Iberostar threads with all the info on those specific to those resorts. lol.

Anyway I just wanted to start a thread on SLS for past and present brides to discuss our weddings there and share info and tips etc.

My FMIL just got back from Cuba and she did a tour of SLS for us, since we won't be able to scout it out ourselves before booking. She was very impressed and said it was beautiful, huge and looked like a great place for a wedding. She said that even her daughter (a travel snob) would be impressed, so that's a good thing.

If any of you are getting married here, please share your experiences in planning and of course reviews afterwards!

I don't know about their weddings....but I stayed there for a weeks vacation in Nov. 2007, just shortly after it opened, and I absolutely loved it there. A co-worker of mine is also heading there in April. If we were looking at Cuba, it would have been on my list of top choices, but the FI doesn't want to go to Cuba!

IF you do choose it, I'm sure you'll love it!

I had my wedding there, and I have absolutely no regrets. They were amazing to deal with. Any problems I had they were more than happy to accommodate in any way in order to make things right for me. And traveling with my family believe me many things needed to be fixed. The staff were awesome.

The Wedding coordinator was great to deal with. She was always available to answer any questions. The extra effort they went to to set up for us was incredible. I have yet to see another set up like that. I truly cannot say enough about the staff.

The grounds are huge. They have several pools. And very clean. The shows are very good and entertaining. If you so choose you would never have to leave the resort. And something for everybody. The food at all the a la restaurants was highly recommended. And the buffets offered enough variety that you never had to have the same meal twice.

The beach is beyond words. The sand is so soft and white. The ocean has more shades of blue and green than I can express. The walk into the water in a nice gentle slope and the water sports available are always fun to take advantage of.

I love the Sirenis, and cannot wait to return. My only regret is that I did not take longer in planning my wedding as it is already gone, and it seemed to happen to fast! It was one of the best days of my life. A dream come true and I am thrilled that I was able to have it there. If anybody has any questions please don't hesitate to ask. I will answer them as best I can.

Wow that is great to read!!! Thank you for posting all that and it makes me so excited to get married there. We are anxiously waiting until July when our second baby is born, and also when the tour operators come out with their prices so we can book our trip!!! In the mean time, I am having so much fun planning the wedding, doing some little DIY projects and getting things in order.

If anyone else has been to this resort or plans to get married here, let's chat!

  • 1 month later...

We're booked for our wedding down there on December 22nd. It wasn't my first choice, but it had the best price, and it's still a new resort which is nice.

I don't like either of the locations I've seen for weddings though (gazebo or beach) Are there any other options for wedding locations?

Congrats on booking your wedding. We are also in the process of booking here for Feb. 2011. It does have the best price of all of the ones I have looked at so far! I think partly because it is such a big place and they have lots of rooms to fill.

Don't know about other locations besides the beach and gazebo. I am leaning towards the beach. Just curious....what dont you like about the locations?

I don't know I just haven't found a lot of photos of weddings there. The gazebo is nice, but it would be nicer if it had some more vegetation around or a view of the water, and the beach is okay, but I don't really like that set up they do on the beach. It just looks kind of cheesy.

I guess I'm just being picky!

I'm going to see if they can maybe do it on a private part of the beach (the pictures I've seen all have people looking in the background which is kind of annoying) or maybe in a garden somewhere.

We just booked our wedding at SLS and I am very excited! This resort was literally hundreds of dollars less than any of the other places we looked at...and we have a few guests that are pinching their pennies, so I wanted it to be friendly on the wallet. Our group is going from Toronto, Feb.1-8 2011. But FI and I are staying an extra week. :) I havent yet decided on the beach or gazebo, I suppose I can decide when I get there?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
