Does anyone not feel pretty in their dress after their fitting?

Recommended Posts

Wow, I am relieved to see that I am not alone here. I just had my first fitting after being away from home for seven months. I almost cried. I felt as if it was the wrong dress, i actually asked if they ordered a different one.

I keep reading that some of you girls felt your dress was too simple ... well i am wishing mine was more simple now. I am nervous that it is not traditional enough and was contemplating going hunting for a new dress. Only 40 days till my wedding, so i don't really have time sad.gif

I am crossing my fingers and hoping my next fitting (may 1st) goes better.

I felt the same way about the first dress I bought, I'm a size 0 also and it took forever to pick out my first dress. I think I picked it because it was the first one that looked ok on me, but I wasn't in love with it. Soooo I eneded up buying a second dress dress that I absolutley love and fell in love with the very first time I put it on, so I knew it was the one. Go with your gut feeling, either way you will be beautiful on your special day.

WOW! I'm sure glad someone brought this up!!! I thought I was the only one who felt like this!!!!!!!!

And I was so torn because I already paid 60% to order it, and my family loved it.

And when I went to some friends for their opinion (DONT EVER DO BTW!) I got a lot of negative feed back like, "It really isnt a destination/beach dress" EVENTHOUGH it's from Mori Lee's VOYAGE (destination) line!!!

Whatev's. Its still not here, and I've even forgotten what it looks like. The pic online doesnt really help. I SURE HOPE I fall in love with it again when I try it on in MY size.

GL Ladies! Love the Love around here!

I actually just went thru this too. I honestly believe it was the stress talking. I convinced myself that I hated my dress! And this is the dress I hunted down for months and drove all over the state to find cuz I loved it so much! All it took was me to try it on again, and I was back in love with it cheesy.gif

I think it was because I went to a specailty store where they have 1 dress in one size. Nothing was ment for my body..

When i left I was thinking that I finally understand why people get married in Jeans. I looked a lot better in the clothing I arrived in.

Ohh I can soo relate!!!! I went with a friend who is also getting married and she is much smaller than me and EVERY dress she tried on was too small and she was feeling awful and I was feeling awful because I knew my turn was coming. I put it off for weeks but finally went in and the first couple of dresses made me so depressed that I almost gave up. Thankfully I kept going and finally got to "the one". I went back 2 more times before committing to it but got the dress I wanted. We'll see if I still want it in Sept when my order comes in.
This is a great topic but I'm going to take everyone's advice and go in to the fitting with make-up & updo. I want to still love my dress when I try it on again.

I definitely felt the same way!! It's so difficult when you try on all the dresses in sizes that are not your own...and try to picture how it will look it your size! I had my last fitting last week...and I felt just so so about my dress! Wondering if I had made a mistake...but too late to change it now!! I'm sure with the necklace, hair and makeup it will be all different!!

I can def relate. The only thing is the dress I purchased was not the dress I loved. It was the dress my mom liked though. I had my fitting and going for my second on Wed. I am trying to convince myself that it is not what I am wearing that it is important its the person waiting for me down the isle that will make my day special.... (But it is a sucky feeling to know I am not thrilled about the dress I am wearing) So I say if you are unsure and have the money go for another dress that you love....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
