When I contacted Moon Palace, the WC in Miami gave me a little higher rate and I was actually able to negotiate getting the same rate that the travel agent provided. I just figured it was easier to go through Moon Palace's group contract because they provide me with a link that my guests can use to book their accommodations. Some people find that dealing with a travel agent is easier, so I don't know.. all personal preference I guess.

The rates I got from the travel agent was: "Deluxe Resort View" prices at $184.00 per person per night based on double room occupancy for January 4 - April 30, 2011. For May 1 - Aug. 20, 2011 rates drop to $154.00 per person per night and Aug. 21 - Dec. 23, 2011 - $148.00 per person per night double."
    Hi there!
Thank you for posting that. It seems that Destination Wedding can't help me because we've already signed a contract...wish they'd said that in the emails before we put our $50 commitment deposit. I am hoping my WC can match the rates you've posted...in spite of signing the contract, guess we will see...

Those are some great rates. I am May and I think I was quoted $508 per person for a 3 night stay. I may have to see if they can bring that down.

        Hi Ladies,

I also am getting married in 2011. May 12th 2011 to be exact and we are having the ruby package. I have been to the Moon Palace 4 times now so it was the obvious place. If anyone has any questions about the resort just let me know.

          Catherine,
I would love to see photos that you took of the locations, especially what's nearby. I think one of the terrace is right in front of guest rooms...details that they'd never show on the site. Anything you found worth mentioning? Thank you!

I think all 3 terraces are set in a garden area but they all have rooms surrounding them. They are all really pretty and have water features around them. It's amazing when you see the maintanence men the moring before a wedding is taking place, they are there with their paint brushes touching everything up to make sure it's perfect. I think i may have a couple of pictures of the terraces i'll see if i can get them to work on here:

Ok, It doesn't let me upload pictures but i do have a couple of photos of the teraaces. If you gived me your email address i'd be happy to email them to you x

              Hey Catherine,

I have just been asking around but what pools do you think are best for a group of people? I have heard Grand Moon are nice due to the large beds and that they are the least crowded but also the furthest away. Between Sunrise and Nizuc? From what I hear Sunrise has the most kids, is that accurate? I am trying to decide to tell guests where our group will be hanging out. Our party doesn't have any kids and probably a majority of guests who will want a swim up bar. I have been to Aventura Spa Palace but never Moon Palace so I am just trying to get an idea. Thanks!

                  Hi,

The pools are really nice but i personally do prefer the Grand ones as they are infinity pools with comfy beds and the large one has a swim up bar. All the pools are nice and are big and have loads of bridges over them with swim up bars. I would say Sunrise is the loudest and has more atmosphere as there is always music and entertainment there and the kids pool. Nizuc is similar but not quite as noisy but the grand is the most impressive and qieter still. Hope this helps.

Hey ya'll! I am new, and so excited to start planning my wedding! We sent in a request for our date yesterday, so if all works out we should be getting married on April 23, 2011! We are having a small wedding of immediate family only. I am not sure if I want to do a reception back home for friends and family. What are you guys doing? Can you still have wedding showers if you are having a destination wedding? I am new to all of this and not sure about destination wedding etiquette! Also, where did you guys get your wedding invitations from? Thanks!

We got our date!! April 23, 2011 at 6 pm. I can't wait! Now I need to get the save the dates and invites. Where did you guys get yours? I only need less then 15 so I'm having a hard time finding them. Most places want you to order at least 25.
                      Thanks!
