For anyone thinking about doing a site visit, thought you might find this information useful. Palace resorts can give you a double occupancy Deluxe room for $226/night (that's $113 per person per night) for a max of 3 nights. Which is much cheaper than the site! Basically you have to fill out a form (I attached it here) and send it back. Then they'll contact and make the arrangements with the specific resort you're interested in. You'll have to pay extra for your airport transfers.

I'm planning to go down to MP next week, and will give you all a full report! Let me know if you have any specific questions and I can try to get them answered when I'm there. Thanks!

You're the best!! Thank You!! I've been wondering how to get a deal for a site visit. Would love if you can get info and pics on the caribbean terrace and pics on rooms at sunrise side. Can't wait to hear the details when you get back :)

DiamondGirl,

What did the WC tell you about having it on the Caribbean Terrace?

She told me it wouldn't be as private... but to my understanding it's on a rooftop, right?

FYI.. our WC is telling me that you only receive comped items such as the cocktail hour.. if you have booked the room nights through their room contract.

Which is ridiculous as my husband and I are owners at the place, and we booked 3 rooms just in our names for 6 nights each.  Plus our 5-6 additional rooms which were booked separately.  Plus the Sapphire Pkg.

This place is getting on my nerves.

Also, found out the projector and screen for a video is $580.  Still high..  every option seems to be $400 or $580.

Anyone ever book a private dinner for a party less than 20?  I'm thinking now that, for the cost, a dinner would be nicer than a cocktail party in the blazing sun.  I see, however, a note on the sheet that states 'Buffet and plated dinner services require a minimum of 20 guests.'

This is starting to seriously annoy me.  I guess they are saying '$800' minimum cost for private dinner.

;p

@SChica  Thank you for all the info and the inspection form! Can you ask MP if they have special events planned for Halloween?

Does anyone else know if there are special events on Halloween? Would be so much fun! I am probably going to ask my guests to bring costumes either way! Impromptu costume contest? Thriller blaring through portable speakers? Suuure, why not?!? smile123.gif

From what i've read from a previous brides, It's one of the most private areas and you have your own bar. They block it off your function, which is great!! Check out Vgirl17 wedding review. She breaks everything down and has photos of the caribbean terrace.

Ohhh.... that's not a stupid question at all! I hadn't even thought of that question, but I'd been assuming most of the brides were talking about MP Cancun/Riviera Maya. That's where I'll be. And, I would think pricing does change depending on the resort.

Thanks! I'm also talking about MP Riviera Maya -- that's where I'm headed on Sunday, so that's what I'll be sending the review about next week.  A few of you asked specific questions, and I'll do my best to get them answered for you!

Keepin' my fingers crossed that we'll love the resort and be able to book all of our ceremony/reception sites ASAP!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
