Thx for the info!  I was thinking that we had to have 15 guest rooms on that night to get the free cocktail hour.  We actually have 5 rooms for 6 nights and then a few more rooms for 3 nights.. so that means we qualify??  Wow.. I need to pay more attention to the details.  That is awesome!  I feel better already.

I have actually worked through the ceremony details.. we are doing the sand ceremony w/the girls, as well as another little portion that they are a part of (unless we run into issues with doing something that is not the 'norm'.. but it isn't a big thing and I don't see how it would be a problem).    They will love it.  I'm also having them ride in with me in the horse/carriage.

I was planning on the rose petals - thx so much for that link!  I will check it out!

I'll also have to look at those 2 photographers - I keep seeing those names.  I contacted Sascha Gluck, but haven't heard back from him yet.  I am def. doing this somewhat last-minute because I thought that MP would not allow an off-site photographer at all, according to their contract.  I have no issues paying for a day pass or a night.. whatever.. just give me great photos!!

Do any of you have thoughts re. the restaurant to select?  I need to look at the photos and try to figure out where we want to eat dinner.  Does anyone have advice on that?  Looks like we are going to have 8 or 10 guests with us.  And 2 kids.. one a very hyper 3 yr old.  eek.

Thx again!

One more question - anyone out there hear of anyone possibly playing a DVD slideshow at either a dinner or cocktail party?  I just sent off a batch of questions to our WC, but I know that it could be awhile before rec'ing answers.  I'm wondering if anyone has done this and has any idea how they did it and the price involved.

I actually make these type of videos professionally, and it just seems wrong not to have one at this event!

ok so I just got the pricing for Novemeber 2011 room nights. does this sound right to anyone else? This is without airfare. When i went online to orbitz, expedia, travelocity, etc- it included airfare and seemed cheaper than this. if my guests go online to book they are going to see that it is cheaper.

Rooming Arrangements:     The rate on the rooms with airport transfers will be as follows:

Superior Deluxe Gardenview--$500.89 per person (Double Occupancy) – 3 nights

$664.52 per person (Double Occupancy – 4 nights

$1,155.46 per person (Double Occupancy) – 7 nights

Children ages 4-17 -- $64 per child per night.

Each room reservation will be entitled to a Resort Credit of $500 for 3 nights; $750 for 4 nights; $1,500 for 7 nights.

Guests will be asked for a 2 night deposit on hotel room at time of reservation.  Final payment of reservations will be paid to the resort upon arrival.  Cancellation Policy is:

Outside of 45 days:  $50 per person;  45-0 days prior to arrival:  1 night penalty

Those prices seem about right.  Often the rooms on Orbitz and Expedia are the obstructed view rooms so they are cheaper. These rooms are located in the Nizuc section You can add these to your group booking as well and they end up to be cheaper than the prices on those websites.  To book these they would have to do it through your TA or Miami coordinator and they are unable to do it online.  They do have to be aware these rooms might be smaller and the views are not as good as the other rooms. I had only 1 couple choose these cheaper rooms.  However they then used their resort credit to upgrade their room so for a much cheaper price they got the same room as everyone else.

Hi ladies! I am a November 2011 Indian DW bride! There's a 95% chance we'll be doing it at the MP! :)

For anyone thinking about doing a site visit, thought you might find this information useful. Palace resorts can give you a double occupancy Deluxe room for $226/night (that's $113 per person per night) for a max of 3 nights. Which is much cheaper than the site! Basically you have to fill out a form (I attached it here) and send it back. Then they'll contact and make the arrangements with the specific resort you're interested in. You'll have to pay extra for your airport transfers.

I'm planning to go down to MP next week, and will give you all a full report! Let me know if you have any specific questions and I can try to get them answered when I'm there. Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
