Oh no, the talk about the resort pictures scare me sad.gif

I'm going with Ivan Luckie. As long as you pay for a day pass, the outside photographer will be considered a guest at your wedding. Ivan is amazing and incredibly affordable!! WAY less than your budget of $3000. His website is http://www.luckiephotography.com .

I encourage you to check him out! Good luck! :)

I wasn't really interested in spending too much on photos, but now I'm so excited to see how they turn out. They are also including a TTD or honeymoon shoot the next day.

So I came online bright and early this morning because I am devastated. sad.gif Too bad there isn't a smiley/emoticon that is hysterical crying because that's what I need right now.

I started off with 8 BMs, all my bestest friends of my LIFE, and my FH has 9 ushers ... yeah he asked one more person without checking with me about the count...

anyways in the past month, i've had two BMs back out on me because it's "too expensive" for them. The second being just this morning. I'm so incredibly sad, I just cannot picture my day without them. I don't know what to do and I can't help but think there are still more than 9 months to go!!! there is plenty of time to save!!! but what do I know, sad.gif I don't know their budgets or if they have left over to save. neither of them have the most stable job on the universe... sad.gif im just heartbroken and don't have the heart to even debate anything with them...i mean, i don't feel right doing so...but at the same time i feel like writing--look, you have x amount of months, just put away x amount of dollars to save, etc etc... Now FH has 9 ushers and I have 6. @$!($^&

help me feel better please shitfan.gif

Aww...I'm so sorry.  It is so hard because of course you want all the important people in your life there.  On one hand, you did give more than enough notice.  On the other hand, it is expensive and some people just can't afford it.  If she is one of your closest friends, I'm sure she put a lot of thought into how she could make it work and it must have been hard for her to tell you she can't go.  She can still be a part of your wedding by helping you plan, shop etc.  Are you having anything at home before or after the wedding?

I had one BM drop out so far.  My sister is my MOH, but a very unrelialbe person.  Despite having over a year to plan for this expense, I can really see her not showing up.  My FI has not asked any guys to be in the wedding yet.  He wants to wait to see which of his friends are going so he doesn't make the feel obligated.  It's a good chance that I will wind up with 4 out of 6 BM with his 1 GM.

Everything will work out.  I think the important part to remember is that all of this is about the two of you.  After your big day is over, all you will remember is how happy and beautiful everything was.

Jennw818, I would love the prices for the resort photographer.

Have you guys heard of Elizabeth Medina? I heard she's amazing and I've seen her work. I emailed her but never got a response . . . I bet she's way out of my budget though.

Cynthia,

I am so sorry to hear you're so upset. I was also worried about this issue too when I decided on a destination wedding. But I told myself that the most important thing is I am getting married to the love of my life and whoever can come with come and if they don't, then so be it. I know it's hard since they are your very best friends and I am sure you put alot of thought into asking them and you're hurt but money is a logical excuse. But like you said you're giving them plenty of time. I keep emphasizing to my guests how they don't have to pay all at once and they can spread out their payments. I already have had alot of remarks about how expensive this is but I am like if you break it down for food, accomodations, etc, the Moon Palace is fairly inexpensive for a wonderful vacation. No one has backed out on my wedding yet but I have a feeling a couple might. I am prepared for it.If I have unmatched BM vs gm, I'll just double up.

CynLovesLuis - So sorry to hear about your luck. We were also worried that some of our Bridal party couldn't afford the trip, and I know I can't count on the GM until they actually pay for themselves. I'm pretty sure that we will end up paying for FMIL and FFIL?!? I hate being responsible for paying for grownups! But as with all our other guests, we will just wait to see who books and hopefully, we will have enough rooms for the free unlimited private events.

And the bright spot will be that at least we will have great pictures?

You're welcome!! I'm actually not sure what the photographer's name was that took her pictures. All I know is that they were awful and she barely got any pictures for the money she paid. She said that she absolutely loved everything about MP and her wedding there, but she said if she were to do anything over or if she had any advice to give me, it would be to have an outside photographer no matter what.

Jennw818:  Did you decide on Ivan Luckie? He is wonderful to work with! :)

Hi everyone!

We are using Danielle Davis. She is AMAZING! And prices are very affordable. One thing that we are offering to our guests are "mini session" this includes a 1 hour session with our photographer the day after the wedding for families/couples to get their pictures done on the beach. She will edit the photos and send everyone the rights and a CD with the images for only 100.00. This has been a HUGE hit because everyone wants family pictures while they are down there and this is extremely affordable.

Check out here website

    • Good afternoon, I wanted to inquire if anyone has or knows someone who got married at this resort. How was it? How are the coordinators? Packages that were chosen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.   Thanks.
    • Hi all! I know this is an old thread... but just in case there are other destination wedding brides out there with the same question, I thought I would answer! My guy and I live in Texas and just got our marriage license (yay!). We are getting married in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The Dallas County clerk informed us that we can get our marriage license in Texas, bring it and a Texas-registered officiant to Mexico, have the ceremony in Mexico, then bring the marriage license back to Texas to file and it will be LEGAL in the US.  In  other words, we can legally get married in Mexico using our Texas marriage license and officiant (who is a family friend), then file the paperwork when we get home. Where it says 'county in which ceremony was performed' on the license, we just put in Playa del Carmen, Mexico and bam! Married :) I do not know if this is true for other states, but it is CONFIRMED for Texas! I suggest asking the clerk when you register for your marriage license. I am overjoyed that we can have a US-legal marriage in Mexico so our wedding date on our license will be the actual day! NO blood tests, or getting married before or after the trip required!
    • Every Bride spends a lot of time researching and worrying about her perfect wedding dress. While many Indian brides choose the traditional red colour for their bridal gown, a few of them find some different colours to wear on their special day. Here is a description of how to choose an Indian wedding dress that suits your skin tone. 1) Fair complexion: You can choose any shade of blue or bright shades of pink and red. In the shades of blue- select scuba blue or royal blue. Among other colours this season, you can pick up your dress in tangerine.   2) Wheatish complexion Just select those colours which bring out the warmth in your complexion. Some of the best options for you are tangy orange, saffron yellow, vibrant shades of red, mint green and hot pink.   3) Dusky complexion: If you have an olive skin tone, then you can pull off any rich and dark colour quite well. So, the colours like classic blue, marsala, burnt orange and brick red are just perfect for you. Also the metallic silver, gold and bronze will even flatter your face pretty well
    • I will be using the hPage Website Builder to create a free website for our wedding. I am planning to post wedding updates, wedding photos, wedding reminders, and wedding articles regarding our upcoming marriage there. For RSVP, I am using Facebook events since almost all we invited have facebook and it would be easier to get their "yes" or "no" confirmation there. In case anyone is interested as well here's their site: hPage Website Builder - https://www.hpage.com
