In which salon is Alberto in?!

Amara - I have no idea how he did it, I couldn't watch. But that's all I can figure that he was doing. He works at the Sunrise salon. Yes, with our membership and 7 night stay we each got free mani, free pedi, free back massage and 2 free tours. For the wedding they gave us 2 more free back massages and offered a free photo package that we declined.

Thanks Kris, I was worried about the wind too but I really wanted my hair down. I compromised with the half updo. It was windy but not too bad. I had my veil tucked into the back of my dress to keep it from blowing in my face.

Amara, The 2 free tours have always been included in the membership. The other wedding stuff I didn't find out about until we met with our onsite coordinator.

The spoon worked great! My lashes were curled and looked awesome! A few people even asked if they were fake.

Once you register at the Honeymooners desk, they give you t-shirts and book you for a honeymoon dinner. In your room, you get a cake and sparkling wine. We missed the dinner because our TTD ran later than expected (and was so much fun) but they also decorated our room with rose petals and left chocolates and more sparkling wine. Here's a little hint: I didn't want to eat our cake because it was so cute, so I just left it on the table for a couple of days until I noticed it was attracting ants. Thankfully, we had already arranged to move rooms to be closer to the pool, but I wouldn't advise keeping sweets unwrapped in the room for too long.

Well I hope my hair stays all night! I hope Doris can pull off he pouf like Alberto. I really wanted him but since he doesn't work on Sundays, I got Doris but I heard good things about her too. Thank god I signed up for a trial. As for your burnt forehead, I am glad Alberto helped you! That's my worst fear! I know its bad but I started tanning now for my wedding. I plan on hiding under the umbrella and my big floppy hat until my wedding b/c I can't risk getting burned and peeling!

Mocha, I have a couple of questions if you don't mind:

1. Did you use the makeup from the salon? I plan on bringing some of my own!. As for eyelashes, I was not blessed with much so I am bring false ones!

2. Do you know if they offered you a changing area at the reception? I am having my reception in the star ballroom but I was just wondering if anyone knew if they have one available for the bride. I am changing for a bit during my reception into my culture's traditional dress.

Terpgurl - I didn't plan on burning, but I also wanted a dark tan. I was slathering on the moisturizer to prevent peeling, but never really bothered with sunscreen so it's my own fault. I pre-tanned as well because it had been a long time since I was able to spend any time in the sun. My hubby and I both look really dark in our photos, many people kept mistaking us as locals and even after we told them we only spoke English, they continued speaking Spanish to us.

I didn't bring my own makeup, they just used theirs. They had a large selection. They also did my MIL's makeup and the colors looked great even on her paler skin. I've heard they do a really good job at applying fake lashes too.

We had an outdoor reception and they provided a room nearby for us to use. I changed dresses too and just had mine in a guest's room close by. I don't recall seeing anything near the ballrooms, but they might provide you with one of the concierge rooms. They are really accommodating, so I'm sure they'll find a solution for you.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
