Does anyone know what all the animals are supposed to mean?  Like the dolphin or alligator?  I might just be slow but I can't think of what it would mean!

Also, is the sunrise side the newest?

Whenever I've DLed it before, I've been able to read it just fine... hope this helps!

Kyndall, the animals are to identify each mini section. Nizuc is the original section, they added Sunrise about 10 years ago and Grand is only a couple of years old.

When I spoke to Claudia about the cake, she said we can decide at the meeting, or beforehand. I don't want to pay extra so we just have a choice of vanilla, chocolate, cheese or fruit. I think we'll probably pick fruit.

The animals identify what building your room is in.  All the building look identical.

The cake.  I'm not a food snob, but I will say everyone who went to the Moon Palace with our group agreed the desserts were not good.  The cake tastes wet...like if you smushed it water would come out.  I like cake...regular mix out of the box here, I'm not picky. I couldn't finish my desserts there. My wedding cake wasn't any different.  I had one bite.  For the complimentary package you get two choices...either the one with ribbon and flowers on top or seashells.  As for picking out your cake....when you meet with your wedding coordinator she will show you pictures of different cakes and then you chose what flavor. We picked marble, but it was white cake when we cut into it.

Maybe I was at MP the week the cake baker was gone? lol

Shelby, have you written a full review yet?

I'm not expecting too much for the cake, that's why I won't pay to upgrade. It's nice to know that there's a seashell one for free too. I figure I'd rather have a nicer cake for our AHR.

So I just got assigned Kalena Arroniz as my Moon Palace wedding coordinator! :o)  Is this a good thing or a bad thing?! LOL

20 people booked so far. So excited!

I have Kalena and I have to say that she's slow in responding at times but I heard she's awesome! I talked to her on the phone once and she was really sweet but there is a language barrier so I have adapted to her "talk" so we can both be on the same page.  My wedding is in 60 days and she just sent me a bunch of information and followed up with me on my requests.

As for the cake, I heard some bad reviews when you try to get them to change the design. One post I read said the cake look like it was about to topple over and it looked awful. I would suggest sticking to one of the options they have b/c obviously they can do that well as we hope! I am upgrading my cake b/c I have 90 guests.

For the flavors, I didn't know there was a fruit flavor. Is that fresh fruit? Kalena only told me about Chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, marble and cheese. Um what the heck is cheese? I hope cheesecake but that still doesn't make sense. I ended up going with Chocolate, vanilla and marble.

Nabreu - I think anyone that works at the actual resort works very hard to make sure you are happy. They really understand the importance of customer service. I think she has been the WC for other brides on here. Maybe do a search for her name. In fact, I think she is even in one the pictures.

Mocha - I haven't done my review yet. I'm waiting to get my pictures from my photographer. She just posted some on her blog, so I'm hoping to get them all soon and post my review. If you want to see what she posted on her blog this is the link.  http://blog.jmphotomn.com/cancun-mexico-destination-photographer-shelby-jeff/

Kalena was my WC.  She is great.  She is super sweet, pleasant to work with and got everything done. I took her a suitcase of stuff for the wedding. When I gave her a tip on the night of the wedding I had to talk her into taking it.  At first she refused it.  The only thing that was wrong, was my cake. I asked for marble and it was white.  We didn't care though....as all of the desserts at MP are awful.  My husbands favorite dessert is cheesecake and he couldn't finish it.  The cake is general is VERY wet, not moiste....WET.  Hard to describe. No one in our wedding group cared for the desserts.

Hoping to post my review soon!

    • Hi all! I know this is an old thread... but just in case there are other destination wedding brides out there with the same question, I thought I would answer! My guy and I live in Texas and just got our marriage license (yay!). We are getting married in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The Dallas County clerk informed us that we can get our marriage license in Texas, bring it and a Texas-registered officiant to Mexico, have the ceremony in Mexico, then bring the marriage license back to Texas to file and it will be LEGAL in the US.  In  other words, we can legally get married in Mexico using our Texas marriage license and officiant (who is a family friend), then file the paperwork when we get home. Where it says 'county in which ceremony was performed' on the license, we just put in Playa del Carmen, Mexico and bam! Married :) I do not know if this is true for other states, but it is CONFIRMED for Texas! I suggest asking the clerk when you register for your marriage license. I am overjoyed that we can have a US-legal marriage in Mexico so our wedding date on our license will be the actual day! NO blood tests, or getting married before or after the trip required!
    • Every Bride spends a lot of time researching and worrying about her perfect wedding dress. While many Indian brides choose the traditional red colour for their bridal gown, a few of them find some different colours to wear on their special day. Here is a description of how to choose an Indian wedding dress that suits your skin tone. 1) Fair complexion: You can choose any shade of blue or bright shades of pink and red. In the shades of blue- select scuba blue or royal blue. Among other colours this season, you can pick up your dress in tangerine.   2) Wheatish complexion Just select those colours which bring out the warmth in your complexion. Some of the best options for you are tangy orange, saffron yellow, vibrant shades of red, mint green and hot pink.   3) Dusky complexion: If you have an olive skin tone, then you can pull off any rich and dark colour quite well. So, the colours like classic blue, marsala, burnt orange and brick red are just perfect for you. Also the metallic silver, gold and bronze will even flatter your face pretty well
    • I will be using the hPage Website Builder to create a free website for our wedding. I am planning to post wedding updates, wedding photos, wedding reminders, and wedding articles regarding our upcoming marriage there. For RSVP, I am using Facebook events since almost all we invited have facebook and it would be easier to get their "yes" or "no" confirmation there. In case anyone is interested as well here's their site: hPage Website Builder - https://www.hpage.com
    • Minimalist wedding bands look so classy and timeless regardless of the venue.
    • It's hard to estimate. Some receptions don't need much decorating because it's already beautiful. Some receptions need lots of decorating. Some receptions also come with extra decorating equipment already.
