Good question!  I'm freaking out about the same thing and want everythign to run smoothly!  I was wondering too if they just let the CD play or do the timing of when each song should play?

I feel like it's a long song, and it'd also be the song that our whole wedding party enters to. (Depending on the number of guests that come... that may be everyone - LOL!) How do you think the horse and carriage time it with the music so that I arrive right when I want to? (The climax of the song?) Any ideas? Has anyone else done this in their ceremony with success?

It is definitely like pulling teeth to get answers quickly.  This website helps sooo much with that!  I was told we couldn't use a day pass for the photog.  So, we are buying a room for him that night. I had that put into my contract too, so there are no surprises that day.

Does anyone else have any experience with her and have the same issue I have? I find myself waiting a week before I send a follow-up email - it's so frustrating!! I see many questions about their fee when it comes to an outside photographer, which I am using, but have not booked a room as I am going to try to just get them in with a guest pass.

I put something along those lines on my website too!  I don't think there is anything wrong with doing pay pal or having them leave something at the front desk for you in an envelope.  We don't want to pay for people offsite either.....

*IMPORTANT NOTE*: If you are NOT a guest of ANY of the Palace Resorts Sites on the day of the wedding you WILL BE required to purchase a Day Pass to have access to the resort. They charge $88/per person for full access to the resort amenities from 7am-11pm (you will not be allowed back on the resort grounds for any reason after the day of the wedding).

If you plan on staying off the resort, you need to inform us ASAP because there is a limit to the amount of day passes that the hotel will give out -- anyone over that limit will not be allowed on the resort.

How would you suggest I ask the people who book offsite for their $88?  We are definitely not going to pay for that.  We'll know mid-December our final count for bookings.  I was thinking of calling those that booked offsite and asking for them to paypal me or something?  Sounds so bad though!!  feedback.gif

HAHAHA!  It probably is that much.  I honestly can't remember where I read the pricing, and they haven't given it to me yet.  But I am thinking you are closer than I am!!!  :)  Sorry, didn't mean to freak anyone out!!!  I am going to look now to see if I can find it!

I was also considering an extended cocktail hour as well if we have the dinner instead of a reception.

I had Valeria as my coordinator and she's great!  You're right the communication can be slow, but I found that if you compile a list and just send it once a week it's better. And yes it usually takes a week for her to respond (usually Monday - Wednesday).  But once you get there you will see why they can't reply to your emails everyday.  They work very hard and when you have your initial meeting everything will be answered.  Just ask the important questions and don't worry about the little details.

Ladies, I had an inquiry today regarding my wedding emailed Lisa, apparently Lisa is no longer with Palace Resorts.  I am a member and it has been rumored that the Palace is making Managerial changes for the better as far as customer service, and one of the main goals I have heard was to close the MIami office and move operations to Mexico.  So hopefully we will see some better CS from them.

I had a wedding of 80 guests, and was required to purchase the day passes, it did all work out. I used outside vendors for almost everything.  You can't get around the fee, I tried and tried.  All of my guests also stayed at the same resort, I had no problems with guests staying in other hotels. I hope this helps.

They will change to different songs for different parts of the ceremony - guest arriving; bridesmaids; etc.  I gave them my iPhone with a playlist and a numbered list of what track to play with what part.  Everything worked out fine.

Are any brides going to be there from 10/19-10/26? We are having a catholic ceremony on Oct 22nd. I am hoping also everything goes well. I sent Marvin my selections but have not hear back yet....my nerves are shot. I am using by Bose portable docking station for my coctail. It has great out output in the summer during back yard parties I'm sure it would work great for the cocktail hour. We have 25 guest and are doing the dinner reservation opposed ton the reception, at the Arreficies Brazilian grill...they have a semi private outdoor terrace. hopefully everything works out!

I'm also going to be doing this...if you go to wedding linens direct's website you can buy pieces already cut so it takes out the hassle of figuring all that out!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
