On one of my contracts it says that the group promotion for "free cocktail with booking 5 rooms or 15 room nights) or more" it says that the promo doesn't apply if you choose a complimentary ceremony.

My TA is in the process of sorting this out.  Anyone else experience this?

DiamondGirl,

I don't believe that you can use your credit for decor!  MP partners with Zuniga/Deco Cancun which is an outside vendor but check into it.  Many MP brides bring their own to save on money and to have the exact color.

I'm going to ask my wedding coordinator first because we all know how they tell everyone something different. What they may have done for you, they may not do for me. I'm keeping my fingers crossed though :)

rae12vb, I'm glad your BIG day was a success!!  Congrats on becoming a Mrs.cheers.gif

I will using our bridesmaids bouquets for the centerpieces as well (I'm glad to hear someone else do this).  Were your vases provided by MP?  How did you find the transition from the bridesmaid taking pictures to putting the bouquet in the vases.

There are MANY other things to use your credits for here.  It all depends on how many days you're staying.

We stayed 8 nights.  This gave us $300 credits to the spa, which we used all of and then had to pay cash for our couples massage.  My FI and his groomsmen golfed and used their credits.  Many people got the tequila that you can use your credits for.  There are nice creams in the spa that you can buy with your credits.  You can also do many tours.

DO NOT UPGRADE YOUR ROOM WITH THE CREDITS.  Chances are they will probably do that for you anyway.

Some of our guests also did the lobster dinner and liked it.

I'd advise you to buy a few table runners and or chair sashes.  Buy some decor to put on the tables.  We used our bridesmaids bouquets for the center pieces and it looked great.

Also be flexible.  We were supposed to have our reception outside on the Tucan Terrace and they moved us to the ballroom.  I was not happy about this at first but my WC said there was a chance of rain.  All of my guests really preferred being in the ballroom because there was AC!

Everyone had a fabulous time!

Just got a response back from my TA:

It took them awhile to get back to me.  I received the approval to remove that from your contract.  See attached J

Hope this helps!!  Good news for me~

On another note, anyone been to MP in June?  How is the wind?  I'm having a beach ceremony but I always pictured having "soft beach waves" with my hair down. =(  I'd be so disappointed if it was overly windy and I'd have to do it up...

I don't remember anyone ever being able to use palace money for upgrades. You can only use them for packages.

As for the wind, because of where MP is located, there is always a breeze. That's why there is so much seaweed. I wore my hair done and it was blown around but not horrible. They did tuck my veil into the back of my dress during the ceremony though.

Hey ladies ~I'm thinking about bringing my own table overlays, runners and chair stashes. Anyone know what sizes in each to use?

I feel funny asking Deco what the measurments are so I can bring my own :D.

I'm having three round tables and two 2 seater tables.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
