Thanks for the answers!! Wow, that means the ceremony really just FLIES by! I wonder if we could prolong the cocktail hour. =(  Isn't the purpose of the cocktail hour to WAIT for the reception?  =/

I also wonder if I could play a slideshow during the cocktail hour...

Has anyone who has gotten married at Moon already used the hotel photographers? Del Sol is way out of our price range. Anyone find a company better priced? Or use Moon and were happy with the photos there? when we were there in the spring it seemed the Moon photos were ok for family photos but not too sure about wedding photos.

Thanks for your help.

You can always pay to make the cocktail hour longer. I think they wanted everyone to leave so that they could rearrange stuff for the reception since we had it in the same space.

Thank you Mochamakes3~ your flowers were beautiful! Not to mention they're yours for good now ,) What other type of flower is in the bouquet other then the calla lilies?? I really like that. I will definately keep that in mind about real touch although I was leaning towards usuing my bridal bouquets as centerpiece deco...decisions decisions.......

Thanks MrsD2B - All the bouquets had orange callas, yellow callas and white orchids. In the BM bouquets, I added white stephanotis with rhinestone centers. And I had the fuchsia fresh roses added to mine. I also used the bouquets for our centerpieces. We had a sweetheart table and 3 round tables for our guests. I put my bouquet with my parents' table and the BM bouquets with the other two. MP provided the vases and put pink gel beads in the bottom of all the vases.

We did not use the resort photographer.  We use La Luna which is their sister company and they are cheaper.

That's true.  Do you know if the cocktail MUST begin immediately following the ceremony or do you think I could postpone it another half hour?  (ie, ceremony at 5pm, cocktail at 6pm)

I just tried to reserve Arricifes for my welcome dinner and was advised it was already booked. The only day I can do it is the day before my wedding and I don't want to do it then b/c I'm also suppose to have a bridal brunch for the ladies in the group. I thought about even having my welcome dinner/bridal brunch mixed but my fiance isnt thrilled with having any group dinner the night before - which makes sense. crybaby2.gif

So now I'm stuck with Gondola Italian Buffet or Barracuda. Does anybody know anything about these two? I'm leaning towards just moving my welcome dinner to the night before rolleyes.gif but I really dont want to.

Also my WC sent me a photo of an amethyst rose tuscan gazebo wedding like I asked. You'll notice it's way more rosey then amethyst"y" :).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
