I did not buy a table cloth.  Just used the white ones they provided.  Here are two shots of my tables set up.

I was able to put mine in the VERY small closet with 2 other dresses, some 3 strollers and the flight crews clothing and suitcases..so essentially I would have been the same had it been in the overhead compartment.  I was getting it steamed anyway.

A little upset with my onsite WC. She is great but today she told me that none of my choices for reception are available! And my first choice for the ceremony and cocktail hour were not available as well. The wedding is more than 100 days away and it's during low season, how is it possible. Grrr... Sorry :)

Did anyone have similar situation? Should I push for the locations I want or will it be pointless?

The only options available are Lake terrace and Selva Terrace. Does anyone have pictures of those places? I did search and found few pics of Lake terrace but none of Selva.

Rae, there are many 2011 AND 2012 brides sending positive thoughts and prayers your way. I am so sorry that Moon Palace is causing you such grief. I just don't understand. If one was having a "traditional" wedding at home, most of the time the florist will re-use some of the flower decor from the church and re-transport them by vehicle to the reception site to be incorporated with the decor there. Although an "at-home" florist wouldn't normally charge a "re-set up fee", I might be able to tolerate having to pay the fee that MP is imposing. To be told, however, that you can't use the flowers at all is completely ludicrous. First of all, you are using their recommended vendor and secondly as I see it, you "own" those flowers to do what you wish with. Fight hard! There are MANY of us behind you! Best of luck and please keep us posted on the outcome.

Here's yesterday's drama girls,

Last week we did the quick switch to the catholic ceremony. ( I know that it's probably our fault for the timing of our last minute switch )

I e-mailed both Janina and Lily about the switch.  They said it shouldn't be a problem, that the time was still available.

In the meantime I have gone to my local parish and set up private pre cana sessions to get all of our paperwork and pre marital work done before we get married.  They have been great and working extremely hard to help us meet all of our requirements.

On Sunday night I got an e-mail back from Fr. Benito answering some of my questions.

YESTERDAY I e-mailed Janina again because I never got the contract for the switch.  She told me that the time might not be available because they haven't heard from Fr. Benito.

Something is strange!  I called Moon Palace four times, everytime they went to look into it I was disconnected.

I made all of my programs last week saying that it was going to take place at the Immaculate Conception Chapel.  I AM PRAYING THAT THEY WILL GET BACK TO ME ASAP AND ALL WILL BE GOOD.

THe problem with planning a destination wedding is the waiting for everyone via e-mail!!!

I would try again, ask to speak to your WC's boss.  It is the low season so it seems unlikely, unless there is some type of convention going on.  I know last November there was a huge summit at MP but I don't believe it was scheduled to be back. I also know MP is used for basketball tournaments for teams, if its close to Thanksgiving, there is always early season tournaments played down there, UK has stayed there the past 2 years.

Does anyone know if Moon palace has some sort of "calender of events" regarding when they have conventions and other types of things happening?  I don't want to choose a weekend when there is a big convention.

I think they only post the events at Moon Palace and it always changes.

Hello Ladies, I've been lurker here for a few months. Now with my wedding quckly approaching I've decided to come from underneath my shell :). Thanks for all the info I've learned so much! My wedding is being held October 16th @ 4pm. I'm getting the Amethyst Rose package. I'm soooo excited but after reading ALL the reviews I feel behind in a lot of areas. My WC is Rosy Lilly and she has been great so far! However the info she sent me didn't mention anything about the different location options for the ceremony, reception and private functions. I've gotten all my knowledge from you ladies. Also cake options :/. Can anyone summarize the different Terraces and Gazebos. Actually just the Tuscan vs. Grand vs. Carribean. I've sen pics of the Tuscan but not the other two. Stashes for chairs & table lays/runners ~ I was reading one of the BWD reviews from a MP bride and she had bright organza table lays and chair stashes and runners ...does anyone know if u can purchase them from MP or do we bring them ourselves? Thank you so much again!!! Hopefully these aren't repeat questions :/

Thank you for advise. Unfortunately, even after emailing director I still don't have a location I wanted. All of my 3 choices are booked already. To top it all off, the location that is still available, Lake Terrace, is a little far from Bugambilia Gazebo, where our ceremony will be, and to get golf carts to drive our elderly guests who have difficulty walking will cost us $225 per golf cart!!!!!!!!!

I am furious beyond words!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
