Do you ladies know if once I am assigned a WC and I pick the areas I would like for the cocktail hour and reception, Can I change them in the future? or if we decide to not do a reception can we just tell them without any repercussions? At this time I am nervous because some oIf our guests may book through someone besides our TA and we won't get the free events and I know we will have more than 35 guests so the semi-private one they offer is out of the picture (I think)

Yes, you can pick stuff now and change later... but it's all based on availability. So if what you want later isn't available, you have to take what you can get...

I would encourage people to book through your TA... obviously, I want all of our guests to spend the least amount of money as possible, so just push MP to give you the lowest price possible...

They didn't give us the Deluxe Resort View as a category for our room block (for whatever reason...), but now people are finding cheaper rates on Expedia/Orbitz etc BUT it's cheaper because it's the lower room category. So I just called my TA today to ask her if we can get the lower room category added to our room block; I'm hoping this will "match" Expedia's prices and we can get people to book through our link instead...

As for the $1500 resort credit.  My FI and I are considering using it towards one of the packages.  I am trying to see what is the most economical for us.

My FI is concerned that he will not be able to play golf if we do this.  Does anyone know the golf rates?  Since many of his groomsmen will be getting a $500 credit he was hoping that everyone would be able to play a round of golf.

Also, I know that I have asked this before but I am still not sure that I have gotten a response.  Can I use the $1500 credit toward my hair and makeup that day?

Thanks ladies!!!

Rae - If you use the $1500 towards a wedding package, you have to use the entire amount.  Your FI can still play golf, but it is $260 per round plus shoe and club rentals. You can use the palace money towards your hair and makeup, it costs $86 to have both done.

Most of us have figured out that since you can't exchange any of the items in the packages for something else, if it's not exactly what you want you are better off getting the complimentary package and then upgrading individual items.

The regular green fees are $260 ($160 if you play after 2:30).

Here's a link to all the golf pricing:

You can't use Resort Dollars to pay for shoes or clubs, so if they're not bringing their clubs, they'll have to pay out of pocket for that.

Yes, you can use the $1500 towards hair & makeup (but it will come out of the $300 Resort Dollar limit on spa services).

Terpgurl,

Do you remember how often your payments are due for your guests that are booking directly though your group?

Overall she got everything booked that I wanted pretty early on and even called me once to go over the details and send me a follow-up email. I hadn't heard from her since mid April but she emailed me last night and pretty much she is aware of my updates and we're all set to meet next Wednesday:-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
