Do your room nights still count towards wedding events then?

Because we were told that if the bookings didn't happen through the weddings dept at MP (through the room contract and link they provide), then the room nights won't count towards our wedding events... and we're banking on our unlimited free events, comp nights, and room upgrades with all the room nights we have...

I am thinking if my guests do end up booking through expedia or whatever our rooms might not be anywhere near each other or on the opposite side of the resort but I really have no idea how that all works out!

Hi, Photographer definitely is a splurge. Pictures are much more important to me than a video and this is why I didn't skimp on the photography. There are many to choose from. However, Moments that matter was the most reasonable I found to my liking with the style of photography that I was interested in.  I booked with Moments that matter photography which is now sister company with sweet fire photography. Lincoln handles moments that matter and Lori handles Sweet fire. Their work is amazing! you can check out their website at: Momentsthatmatterphotography.com or Sweetfirephotography.com.

Good Luck!

We booked with Claudia Rodriquez photography. They seemed to have more reasonable prices than some of the others (though probably still the most expensive part of the wedding!)

Don't forget to budge in for paying a room night for them as whoever you choose is an outside vendor...

Good idea, I can totally vouch for Teresa that she's is super organized. I have 90 guests for my wedding and she's been on top of it. No matter how busy she is, she always responds to me. I seriously love her! Plus she has a good payment schedule and she refunded my deposit immediately after the final payment was collected from my guests.

Thanks Terpgurl,

I just got off the phone with Theresa.  Unfortunately the rates are the same for her as they are with Moon Palace right now.  I think that I am still going to use her though to help keep things organized!  It's pretty hard to get in touch with people at the moon palace or the ladies in Miami.

Thanks again for the info!

I am booking Ivan Luckie as my photographer. I didn't get him a day pass but decided to get him a room to make it easy. His wife is also coming and she's his assistant and I am excited to have them both capture my wedding!

Schica,

My TA got me the same group contract through the Moon Palace and I got my unlimited events. I had some guests book through Travelocity/expedia but overall we still hit our room nights b/c I got a decent rate from my TA.

The only room nights that count are the ones through your group contract, whether it's set up with MP or through a TA. It made me so angry that my MoH booked through her own TA to save $200 when I would have just paid the difference to have her included in our group. We were only 5 nights away from the 75 and would have gotten way more money back than the price difference. And she would have been in the same section as us in Sunrise. Plus, with our membership, we got way more than $200 in extra included things. If you're unsure of how many qualifying nights you have, your WC can tell you from their rooming list.

Mocha,

Do you happen to know the price list for the steaming services? I am thinking of offering to pay to have my BM dresses pressed/steamed for the girls along with the GM suits.I have 8 each so I was wondering if the price was reasonable. Thanks!

My WC finally responded to me last night and let me know that they do provide table card holders for the reception.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
