I leave in the morning. Of course I feel like I am forgetting some things lol. I have lots to do today so I will be running around a little. To top it off my "monthly visitor" that has been late every month of my life, feels like it is coming over a week early this time grrrrrrhhhhhh!!!!!!thatswck.gif

Good idea Mocha! I do have a document I put together listing everything. One thing I am nervous about right now is confirming our meeting time. She gave me 3 options and I want to make sure she's there when I come to meet her.

If you have specific questions, post on here and a past bride will probably be able to answer. Make a word document with questions and specifics of how you want things, include inspiration pictures. Send it to your WC, she will insert her comments and send it back to you. Print it out and bring it to your meeting where they will go everything. They are super busy, because they usually have a wedding everyday and they will spend the entire day with you making sure it goes well.

Ladies,

Just wanted to let you know -- for those of you getting married at the end of this year (late Nov/Dec) -- AirTran just posted their prices and it seems pretty cheap compared to the rest of the airlines...

Furthermore, you can set up a group event and get your guests 10% off. It's super easy, free for you, and takes 5 minutes to set up! Here's the link for more informaiton: http://www.eventfares.com/eventsavers.aspx

We just set ours up -- of course I booked all of my family's flights on AirTran BEFORE I knew about this... go figure! Argh!!

Hi Everyone!

I just booked our wedding at Moon Palace for August 23, 2011!

We are so excited!!

I am not sure how many of our guests are going to be able to make it down there but I am hoping that we get a good turn out.

I have a few questions after reading many of these threads.

1.  If you want to dance and have a good time at the reception would you still choose the ipod dock? Or would you pay the $1400 for the DJ?

2.  Can you use the $1500 towards a photo package?

3.  I am sooo confused about how the reception, arrival dinner, rehearsal dinner, cocktail hour, etc works?

-What do you recommend out of these?  How much extra are each of these?

4.  Does anyone know a site for real looking FAKE flowers that they can bring?  I have heard that MP's flowers are pretty pricy and I was hoping for a cheaper route.

5.  Does each guest also get the $1500 vacation points? ( I had heard that this was given to anyone as long as they are staying for three nights.)

6.  So far I have a contract sent to me that I still have to sign.  Is there anything that I should add/change in my contract before I sign it?

7.  When is all of the money due?

Lots and Lots of questions.  It's so wonderful to have a go to site like this!  The wedding consultants in Miami are so difficult to reach!!

Happy Planning Everyone!!

Rae I can't answer all your questions but I can for a few. Someone on this website posted a link  with fake flowers on it so check it out, they don't seem too bad! But what a lot of other brides have done was to go through an outside Florist. I read a lot of posts about someone named Marvin http://www.save-on-crafts.com/orchidbouquet2.html The 1500

As far as the credits go there are certain things they can and cannot use them for just so your aware:

*1500 resort credits is for 5 nights or more per room

*750 for 4 nights per room

* 500 for 3 nights per room

Hope this helps some!

Congratulations Rae!

1. Totally up to you. I've heard the resort DJ's not great -- but someone else might be able to speak to this more. I've heard DJ Mannia and DJ Doremixx are really good, but they're outside vendors and are subject to the $500/day fee.

2. Yes, you can use your dollars towards photo and video.

3. Your room contract should outline that if you get a certain number of guests you get x free events... all of the events you listed count towards free events... I'm not sure how much it costs if it's not considered a Free event. I think I read $400 per table of 10 somewhere, but I'm not sure.

4. I've heard Real Touch Flowers are really good fake flowers...

5. Guests get resort credit depending on the length of their stay -- this should also be outlined in your room contract. Something like this: 3 nights = $500 credit, 4 nights = $750 credit, 5-8 nights = $1,500 credit, etc.

6. Make sure you read over your contract and question anything you don't like/agree with. I had a lot of changes to my document before I submitted and they agreed to pretty much all of them... For example, their website says that children under 4 are free but it didn't say that in my contract, so I had them add it in. I was super neurotic with my room contract...

7. No idea when the money's due or how payment works... I'm not there yet! :)

Hope this helps a little bit... you'll find awesome info on this website! Congrats again!

This weekend I was searching pricing on flights & hotel and they are coming back almost $300 per person cheaper then the price my TA gave me! and I know a lot of my guests want to save money so they will probably end up booking through like travelocity and we won't be able to receive the complimentary cocktail hour or reception! I don't know if its common for those type of websites to be cheaper but I don't know what to do now! Any suggestions?! Can the TA find lower pricing?! I am waiting to hear from her but thought maybe someone on here would know more info!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
