Ack! I'm starting to freak out! I was told multiple times I couldn't reserve any venues at MP until 3 months before. That date came and went on Saturday, and after 2 emails I still haven't heard back from my onsite coordinator. I'm going to be seriously peeved if all our favorite venues are already booked. :( We're booking 4 private functions too. Ack ack ack!

Do you know who your coordinator is? Maybe try calling them?... not sure how they'd respond to that though.

We are arriving on Wednesday, June 8th.  Our flight gets in about 5pm, so I'm hoping that we will be at the resort and checked-in no later than 8pm.  We are staying until Saturday, June 18th.  How long will you guys be there?

Mochamakes3,

I finally had it with Lorena. We had a pretty big issue this past Monday and I was beyond upset!!!! Tuesday afternoon I wrote a letter 4 pages long and emailed it to her, Lisa and blind copied the membership department. I outlined what my experience has been from the beginning, what issues I was having, and what I hoped they would do about it.

This morning I received a response from Lisa. She was very nice and fixed all of my issues. I hate that it had to get to that point but I am glad that I handled it and got the issue resolved.

My WC is Claudia.  She has been really nice the whole time.  I tried not to bug her too much until I was three months away.  If I email her in the morning she responds to me sometime in the afternoon.  We both have started writing in the question - enter - enter format and answering each other in different colors to make sure we get everything.  I have booked my hair appointments too with the Spa Manager and she was really nice as well.

Hi Ladies!

I just got back from my wedding at Moon Palace.  I did have a few issues right before I left, but they were resolved. I didn't book where everything would take place until about a month prior.  We sat down with our wedding coordinator(Kalena) the day after we got there to go over the details. It was all AWESOME!  I will write a review with photos when I get them from my photographer.  A couple things to note....it is windy there...VERY windy. I had rafia fans with programs.  The fans were not needed at all.  They actually would have blown off the seats, so Kalena hooked them on the chairs. Also, my veil was blowing all over. The minister had us switch sides so the veil would blow away from me.  It was still blowing so much (into my bridesmaids) that he came over and twisted my veil and tucked it in the back of my dress.  This wasn't a one day deal, it was WINDY everyday.  Don't worry about your day at all...they took care of everything!

kyndall - Claudia is our WC too and has been wonderful. I'm trying to decide what to bring her as a gift. I did ask if she has children and she has 2 boys and a girl.

Shelby - Thanks for the quick tips. I was thinking of getting a really long veil so maybe it will be heavier and not blow as much?

all I had to do was buy 2 day passes for the photographer and his assistant.

This was confirmed about 2 months ago.

I honestly think that if you don't stick up for yourself they will make you pay all sorts of ridiculous fees.

for example I wanted to add 3 or 4 white orchids in my bouquet... the WC quoted me $300.

Ya no thanks ! LOL

A couple of you also asked what the updated Lighting package is, Its basically a few more lights for about $200.

I am having my reception on the Caribbean Terrace and am setting up a seating area and thought it would be a good idea.

I'll let  you guys know if it was worth it!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
