Hi Maykaym4.  Congrats on your wedding!  Great news on the photographer!  How did you get around bringing in an outside photographer in the Moon Palace?  Did you get a day pass or get them a room?  I'm getting married at the MP on 4/30/11 and I've hired Juan Navarro who lives locally.

Thanks!

We just got married 2/13/11 at MP and we booked Sascha Gluck for our wedding and a TTD session afterwards.  He was AMAZING and his pricing was VERY reasonable.  We did a 7-hour package (5 hours the day of and a 2-hour TTD session the next day) and it came in right around $2,000.  He also offers smaller packages for less.  I would definitely check him out!  cancunphotos.net

Good luck!

I've booked Nunez Gonzalo as my wedding photographer for 9-3-2011 and I think I'm going to book DJ Mannia as our DJ. I thought about just doing the IPOD set up but I wont have time to deal with that and neither will my guest!!! My WC said that I would have to book a room for them so I'm thinking about booking a vendor room for 1 night or trying to find ways to get around this...What happened to the day passes it would be so much cheaper!!!

If I sent out save the dates a few weeks ago and my wedding is in September do I still need to send out invitations? I really like the passport invitations :)

And as far as the reception we are going to have more than 25 rooms so were wanting to do a private reception on the Caribbean Terrace above the moon grand restaurant. It looks like it would be nice with just the standard decor and there is lights coming from the bar there so I'm thinking about bringing my own decor like centerpieces I only need 10 for the tables. I just dint want to pay decocancun all that MONEY!!

Has anyone choose menu items yet?  Or know how the food is?  We have about 50 people so we have to do the buffet set up.  We are doing a rehearsal dinner and the reception.

We have 36 days to go so I guess I should start worrying about that kind of stuff!

I'm a little frustrated with my Miami WC. I'm working on signing a group booking contract and block off rooms for guests with MP and my WC tells me there is no rooms available in Sunset section, only in Nizuk and they don't have Deluxe Rooms either (the least pricey ones). Our wedding is 8 months away and I was under impression that Nov is low season in Mexico.....

Did anyone had similar situation? What should I do? Should I press her harder for rooms and section I want?

Any advice?

Kyndall, we chose the superior hors d'oeuvres but are still discussing the buffet menu we would prefer.

Are those vases strong enough to support a BM bouquet? Most bouquets I've had as a BM are super heavy.  Here is a source for some similar ones, but they are from China so might not get here in time for your wedding.

Lana, How many rooms are you trying to block? Maybe there is a conference that same week?

So i was looking to have my wedding at the Caribbean Terrace but there is a charge of $12 per person extra even if we get the free events which I'm hoping for. For the amount of people we are having that's a huge expense. Any other locations at Moon Palace that are just as beautiful? I wonder if I did the cocktail hour there only would they still charge me per person? And then do the reception somewhere else. My ceremony is at the Toucan Gazebo......Any suggestions or advice?

Georgia Peach, I wanted to do a private cocktail hour at the Caribbean Terrace and there is still a charge per person. I decided to just tell people to meet there and hope for the best. We will only be about 16 people at that time though. There is also a terrace area beside each of the gazebos that you might want to consider. It's great to meet the unlimited private events, but I'm starting to realize that there's not too many places that can accommodate a large group.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
