question for all MP brides. I am getting married at the moon palace in March. do I get a wedding planner from MP 3 months before the wedding or 2 months? I thought I was told 2 months.

Also does anyone know of someone that has gotten married at an of the palace resorts and used there photographer? We are still deciding to go with the photographer at the resort or a private one.

That's right.  The package only includes a dinner reservation for 30 or 35 people.  A cocktail hour and reception are considered private events and they are extra.  I can post the price list if you need it.

@JLR Hi!! We're barely days apart for our wedding! What days are you going to be there? Cool to find another Nov bride on here! :)

Hi everyone! 11.1.11 here. I'm sure I'll keep checking back through this thread, especially down the road and closer to the wedding date. No private function here. Complimentary vow ceremony and adding extras as we need. Lots of stuff already picked out, but soooo much more to go!

Happy planning, everyone!

That's exactly what I'm doing.  I scheduled that for my welcome/rehearsal dinner at one of the restaurants.  If I wind up booking 75 nights, I will change that to a private function as well.

I intially thought the packages included much more as well.  Once I realized how limited they are, I decided to switch to the complimentary package and add the things I wanted.  It definitely saved me money.

@JenW818- I did the same thing. I choose the complimentary package and added on any extras. When I added it all up, I saved money going with the complimentary package although I added extras. sounds crazy right?!?! but it's true. I also am looking forward to getting complimentary cocktail hr and reception. Let's hope i have enough bookings! Keeping my fingers crossed!! LOL

You get a WC 3 months prior to your wedding. As far as the resort photographer goes, I haven't read such great reviews. The photos I've seen from their photographers aren't that great either. That's just my opinion though. My photography style is more of a photo journalistic style. So I booked with an outside photographer, Moments that matter photography. Their work is AMAZING!! There are other great outside photographers but their prices we're too high for me. I'm getting the same photography style for a few hundred dollars less. Pictures are very important to me so I have no problem paying a bit more. Even if it means that I have to cut back on eating out with the FI. LOL

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
