Hi ladies.  I'm new to this thread.   I am getting married at MP on October 1, 2011.  I just got my contract from my WC in Miami.   After reading some of the information on the thread I'm a little nervous about working with these WC's.   I am thinking about getting a TA, but I don't know if they will be much help or if I should just try my luck with the WC's.

Thanks for all the posts.  I find this the most helpful site I have found.   I love hearing about everyone's planning and the help that is offered!

When I first started planning I didn't think there was any point to having a TA. Now I wish I had someone to say "let me take care of it, I'll see what I can do" instead of "that's the contract." It really depends on what you want and how many people you expect to attend.

ok so we just booked for Novemeber 13th and I am working wirth Marlyn in the Miami office. is anyone else working with her? i know that it is 11 months away so maybe I am just being antsy but she is still insisting that I can not plan anything for the wedding until 3 months before. All I really want to do is get confirmation I am not much for being pushy so I was wondering if anyone that had to deal with these obstacles and could tell me what to say to them or what to ask to get the moving lol

thanks in advance! you all are so helpful!

JLR - I was just contacted yesterday by my coordinator at MP and my wedding is March 11, 2011.  She sent me a bunch of info to look at and decide.  The only thing I really wanted to talk to her about ASAP was that I wanted a beach ceremony and she confirmed that was available.  I think this is typical. You aren't different than any other bride on here. We are all antsy to get the planning going and make sure what we want really happens. If you want me to email you the info she sent, I'd be happy to do so:)  Shoot me your email, if you are interested.

Jess, unfortunately, I think you have to be a little pushy in dealing with your MI contact.  I asked my contact for my onsite coordinator's info for 3 months.  When I finally got through to her and asked to reserve my ceremony and reception site I was told that all beach locations were booked for the day of my wedding and that all three of the reception locations I liked were already occupied.  My ceremony site eventually was sorted out, but she did mention to my travel agent that I shouldn't have waited so long to reserve.  If it is really important to you to have a certain gazebo, garden or terrace, I would suggest calling your Miami contact.  If you know who your onsite coordinator is, you can probably get her email address on this site and email her directly.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
