Hi Jenn

I have Kalena as my WC too and I'm not getting a response from her or the Miami contact.  I'm real worried because our wedding is less than 2 months away.  When is your wedding?

Ok actually there was a misunderstanding on my part lost in translation type thing in the email.  I had first requested the chapel but nobody had told me that I could use it yet - I didn't think I could since it's during holy week.  I had assumed I was booked for my second choice but it was actually the chapel.  So I was kind of freaked out for a good hour until Claudia wrote me back.  She must think I'm a real idiot now!  I hope you get everything cleared up with yours.

Everytime I need to get ahold of Janina, I keep calling until I get her on the phone bc her emails normally come at the end of the day when she is leaving the office. I need the Catholic Chapel, for my August 2011 wedding, for the ramp bc my father is handicapp. She told me that it was going to get booked but I still felt that it wasn't bc in my contract of my Amber Collection, it didn't state anything about the chapel. So I pulled up the emailed on which Janina stated she was going to book it and emailed her once again "I need this confirmed" she did forget so good thing I emailed her and called once again. So she wrote back on that same email that the WC at Moon Palace booked the Chapel.

Hope this helps, but keep calling until you get an answer and keep your wedding confirmation # handy. :o)

WOW, so basically they will if you're spending more money??  That is not right!  My wedding is in Apirl and I also dont expect people to book until after January.  People have to get their finances and life in order after the holidays.  That is normal!

Very frusterating.  Keep us posted.  I'm going to double-email my on-site WC and again make sure she has my spots confirmed.

Still have received a response to my emails or calls.  I know this will get resolved, I just think it's such a horrible way to treat your customers.  To all other brides, I would definitely reserve your spaces as soon as possible and verify with the onsite corrdinator as early as possible to make sure you get what you want.  I was told before I signed my contract that I would have my choice of the beach or gazebo once my onsite WC contacted me.  That's obviously not the case.

Hi all!

Just wanted to share this email address with anyone who is having trouble getting in contact with your on-site coordinator, or if your Miami coordinator is not letting you pre-book your ceremony/reception sites.  Edith Munoz is the on-site WC Assistant, her email address is kmunoz@palaceresorts.com.  Janina forwarded her email address to me when I refused to wait until I was contacted by my on-site coordinator to book my sites, since I have heard horror stories about not getting the sites you were planning on.  I'm not sure if she will be any quicker to respond than any of the others, but I figured I'd throw the information out there.

Sorry, I should have included that as well.  Edith is great, but be patient.  My experience has been that she will respond within a week or so.

It doesn't make any sense that any of the ceremony sites could be booked for the same time as your wedding.  Like the others said, you are paying a lot of money, as are your guests, to get married at this resort.  Be very persistent, like everyone else said.  I have heard that if you really get it through to them, they will make things happen.  The only reason I can think that they would do this is if someone reserved it for the time slot before or after you, and they are taking time for clean up or set up.  Maybe if you were willing to change colors to what they will already have there....they could accommodate you??

I still haven't heard back from anyone at the resort, but my travel agent was apparently able to get through to someone in the Cancun office today.  They worked or are working something out to make sure I can have a beach ceremony, however they did mention something about being a small window of time before or after another wedding.  My WC is supposed to be contacting me directly to explain.  I've definitely learned my lesson about not being persistent enough.  I've been very relaxed and patient with trying to reserves my locations over the last 2-3 months.  I will be calling and emailing until I get every event and appointment booked!

Thanks for all the support ladies!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
