Hello ladies...If anyone is interested, I am looking to share a photographer and split travel costs. The photographer is MarieSam Sanchez of this forum and she is offering a great deal, but I have to pay travel costs for 4 nights for her and her assistant. If able to split at least the airfare with someone we can all get a great package from a great photographer. We arrive at moon palace on 5/11 until 5/17..our wedding is 5/15. If anyone will be there around those dates and is interested...Please PM me.

I completely agree with you on this.  My fiance and I decided when we got engaged that we are not putting ourselves into debt over this wedding.  We are paying for everything in cash and whatever we can't afford come May we will have to pass on.

btw - your website is so cute. What colors are you using for your decor? Have you ordered or sourced anything yet? I also ordered Real Touch flowers to make our bouquets and boutonnieres.

Thank you for this.  I'm really don't want to kill myself trying to carry everything down there with us.  I'm thinking I'll probably bring out OOT bags, linens, petals, programs and place cards.  Everything else I was hoping to pick up there.  I want things to be as easy as possible, but at the same time I don't know how much I can afford to pay for at the resort.

So we have decided to not pack things like candles that we can pick up there. On our second day we are going to take a Wal-Mart run to pick up any extra things that we need. I just really hate traveling with a lot of baggage, so I like that this is an option. Also if there is something that you see on their website, you can do the ship to store option.

There is also a Sams Club in Cancun and one in Playa del Carmen. Hope that helps!

This is very pretty.  How do you plan to transport the vases?  I would love to bring my own hurricane vases for candles, but I feel like they are going to be such a problem to pack and I'm scared they will get ruined on the way.

I am doing an all white wedding, with egg plant purple accents.

I bought 5 vases identical to the picture below and bought Calla lillys for them. We will be using round tables. I have booked Make Up and Photo so far. I am going with an outside vendor for both. Because that used up a lot of my money. I really had to say no to DecoCancun. We are bring 50 white lanterns, 12'. I bought LED battery lights for them. 12 for $5.00 I think? Just incase we don't have electric where we go. I am going eggplant purple for all the table cloths and Chair sashes. Oh, We also got the Amathis Rose Package and are using 1500 Vacation Dollars toward it.

I feel in love with Del Sol. SO I booked them. It really was a must have for me. And probably why I cant afford extra decor lol. I really wanted to go with the complimentary package, but my FI was fixed on having a set package so they would decorate the gazebo in our colors. He felt that most of the picture people will look back on are of our ceromy. So after asking him about ten times to have the complementry one, I gave up. We are actaully not getting maried at the moon palace but at the Aventura Cove and Spa Palace. We are staying one week on each side. So we are getting 2 sets of 1,500. The first 1,500 is going toward the package and then we will do all the tours and spa stuff the second week.

I wanted amber package but since our photographers are our guests, I'm just adding the carriage and maybe the DVD. That way we can spend the palace money on spa and champagne!

I got the lanterns for Asian idea's and the lights from overstock.com and Ben Franklin. The lights are not made for this type of application, but are soooo much cheaper then the ones that are. See Pictures below so you know what I am talking about. I got the idea from another bride on this site.

My FI is an engineer so i am going to have him make liltte boxes like wine bottles containers to put them in. We also made sure we got vases that are SUPER thick. My cats already knocked one over and it didnt crack at all. It will take up probably half a suit case but all of my family offered to bring stuff done. Plus I can pack the chair sashes around them.

Hi Ladies!  Congrats to all of you! I am working on reserving a date in the fall of 2011 at Moon Palace. I fell in love with this resort because it's so versatile, just like our personalities.  It's also super affordable, which my fiance' definately appreciates.  This may be a strange question, but does anyone know if the Moon has good waves?  We like to "boogie board" friday.gif

Welcome, Kristibear!!

I can't say for sure about the waves, but everything I have read on this site has said that one of the only negatives for MP is the beach.  People say there is a ton of seaweed and it's not the best beach to swim.

skadow - we were considering switching resorts to double dip on the palace money too, but can't be bothered. Hopefully, we can just charge some stuff to other rooms. I saw those lights at Michaels last night and was wondering if they would be bright enough.

Does anyone have pictures of the fireworks that are included in the upgrade packages?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
