Yeah I would think that the seashells are easier to carry and lighter...but maybe not...actually you may find seashells in downtown cancun or some tourist trap if you are able to get to one before your wedding...

I am going through a travel agent to book everything and she is the one contacting our miami coordinator but I really want to be able to contact them myself with my questions, but she wants everything to go through her.  Does anyone have this issue?  Also, has anyone already booked which gazebo they will be getting married in?  I asked if I could request one and she told me I had to wait until right before the wedding.  I don't want to be married on the beach so I REALLY want to make sure I can get a gazebo!!!

How many people are you having at your wedding? I am having such a hard time not "planning" everything until 60 days out. Perhaps you guys will know. Do you know what tables you get included in the unlimited group events? Lily at Deco Cancun mentioned that MP has square tables that fit 16 but pictures show round tables.... I am really wanting to use the bridesmaids bouquets as centerpieces with candles to cut costs... but I don't know

Chancey, when you signed your contract, did it come directly from Miami or did it come through your TA. My TA originally said she wanted to do all this too, but I just ignored her and emailed them directly.  If you don't know who is assigned to you, just call the general wedding office number and ask.  I have emailed my Miami coordinator at least a dozen times by now and she has provided some great information.  I asked if I could reserve my reception site and she said yes.  I would suggest you just call.

We are getting married on August 11, 2011.  We got our contract through our TA so I didn't get to see who our coordinator was  sad.gif  I like that I can e-mail her my questions and she asks the coordinator for me but there are some things she thinks she knows so she wont ask!  I think I am going to call the wedding office number and get the information from them!  That is a great idea, I didn't think of doing that!

I am usually a procrastinator on some things but I am NOT going to procrastinate on my wedding!!!!  It is hard enough that you don't get to see anything until you get there but, to have to wait that long to get to talk to anyone! Aghh, it is frustrating!  If my TA doesn't like the CC idea I just wont tell her that I am e-mailing them!!!

Thanks!

Haha!! My TA is the same way.  She always says they she's done so many weddings there and she knew exactly how it works. I'll give her that, she has given me great advice.  She's even recommended some outside vendors for me, etc.  But for the things she doesn't know, like price lists and menus, etc.  I just email Miami directly.  It's never really been an issue b/c I didn't give her the option.  I'm sure it will be fine if you do the same.  I am usually such a procrastinator, but I really can't be with this.  Budget wise, I really have to know the cost of most things before 70 days prior to the wedding.  It's fine with me if I can't set the exact location and flower choices, etc, but I have to have a good idea of how much it's all going to cost me or I won't  be able to force myself to save for it.

I booked with a travel agent but she would cc me on all communication with my Miami coordinator. I have always had the info on my contact in Miami. I email her for pictures of different areas and to reserve my ceremony and reception locations. I never really contact my TA for anything wedding related. My TA did do a site visit recently so she will sending me more picutres of the resort, but all questions I send directly to my MC (miami coordinator)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
