It's my understanding (being a member as well) that 20% off is when you pay with cash/out of pocket. You can't apply the 1500 promotion to the discounted package sad.gif it's one or the other. I was totally bummed to hear this

what are you thinking about your cake Southern Swettie? I'm with you on this one, being someone who bakes and decorates cakes myself.. I have a family friend that also has her own business decorating cakes and she wants to just bring the whole thing ---but that makes me nervous as well. I think my compromise might be is to get a plain tiered cake from MP and then bring my own sugar flowers to adorn it

I guess that it depends on how picky you are...I've heard mixed reviews about the video quality. The one negative thing that I've read pretty consistently is that the editing is not exactly smooth. Some brides laughed about it and others did not think that it was cute.

The two things that I refuse to compromise on are photography and food - especially the cake. I am definitely a cake snob. For me, an outside videographer will depend on whether I have extra funds after I pay for the must-haves.

Just an FYI, I had that list but there is more than what is on there for the promotional dollars.  You can get tequila to take home, limo rides to downtown cancun or to the airport as well as getting your picture taken by a Palace Resorts photographers around the resort.  A lot of our guests were using their entire amount so they did limo rides back and tequila.  However, it's not 100% agave so its not the highest quality.  The wine upgrades do not appear to be worth it.  They charge $70 for a bottle of woodbridge which is $6.99 at the grocery store.

Thanks for this.  I thought I saw that on someone's post before.  That is wonderful.  If anyone comes across the full list, I would love to see it.

i'm sorry if this is a stupid question...but i've tried to find out what it means to be a member and i can't find any info on it. i believe one of my uncles is a member (he has a regular timeshare there)...so does that mean that somehow, through him, we can get better prices for our guests? any info on how this would be great! thanks!!!

for them to contact you 30 days out (sometimes I hear about 90 days out) is standard protocol for them... NOT ME! lol, so ask the questions you need to and contact them! if you want to hear from them earlier

That woudl totally stress me out too.  Was it easy to book your date and block rooms? What TA are you using? I am thinking of using Destinationweddings.com to book everything.

I happened to go to a site visit and looked at the venues and told them that there was no way i was going to wait until 90 days prior to confirm the room. they got me in touch with the site coordinator and now it's in the books. I have a document with the MP reception venues if you'd like to see! just email me [email protected]

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
