Hi damitAprilURCool,
I PMed you hoping you can email (ravywedding@gmail.com) the document with the Moon Palace rates. The WC can match it, but I think she wants to make sure its legit and not made up. Thank you!

Thanks!
Hi and Welcome, Lauren!! As far as STDS and invites go, I went with vistaprint, because I wanted something more value oriented, plus I found a link where all you had to do was pay for S&H. I wish I had gone through zazzle though, I found invites that are perfect for me...maybe I still can...:-)

Thanks, I'll check those websites out! I really need to get STD and invites out soon, but I'm having a hard time deciding on which color package I want to go with. I wish they had more pictures!! I really want to see more pictures of the blue and purple on the gazebo. Does anyone know where to find more pictures?

Ok, so I have another question for you ladies! I'm still undecided if I want to go with one of the collection packages or do the free option and just do the add ons. If I go with a collection package do I still get to choose which cake/bridal bouquet I want or is it already predetermined? I read somewhere you don't get to choose and you have to pay if you want a different bouquet or cake. The pictures on the website don't show too much detail so I can't really tell if I'm going to like the cake in the amber package, which is what I'm leaning towards, or not. I want corral wedding colors and I can't really tell how orange it is in the amber package! It's so hard to choose which package I want when there are not very many pictures!! Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Hey Lauren,

I also debated between the complimentary and a collection package.  In the end, I ended up going with the amethyst rose collection because it actually worked out to be cheaper than if I did the complimentary and paid for optional services because I applied my 1500 vacation dollars to my package.  Originally the package would have cost $2375...but after the $1500, it went down to $875!  In regards to choices, I'm pretty sure they have a standard bouquet and cake for each collection, so you may end up paying more if you want something customized.  And lastly, I have seen pics of the amber package set up in a magazine...and the main colors are orange and brown.  The color scheme is very pretty (has a fall feel), but it is quite orange.  I don't think it will go well with your coral theme.

I hope this helps!

Hey ladies, I am a lurker right now and haven't booked my wedding yet but I am totally in love with the MP already. I am looking to book for the end of May 2011. If someone has a rate sheet or some tips, can you send me a personal message or post on here! Good luck to all you ladies! Also I saw the $1500 promotion, I wonder how long it will last, need to get FH on the ball so we don't miss out on a good deal.

Also any good TA recs? My friends had some horror stories with Destinationweddings.com so I am nervous but I don't know if I want to book directly with the hotel yet.

Evaleen,

How did you apply the vacation dollars? Do they work towards private functions or guest rooms? Even with a complimentary package, you still qualify for the 1500 vacation dollars, correct? Did your WC or WP guide you with this?

The Vacation Dollars are automatically given to your room (& all your guests' rooms) if they stay 3 nights or longer (5 or more nights for $1500).  If you want to apply the $1500 to your wedding stuff, it can only be applied to a package (you can't use it for add-ons to the free package).  And I think it has to all be used for the wedding package or none--I don't think you can just apply any dollrs you have leftover to the wedding package.  My WC wouldn't tell me much about how the Vacation Dollars worked, she directed me to the Miami office (which wasn't that helpful either).  The Vacation Dollars cannot be used towards private functions or guest rooms (except in the case of an upgrade to cocierge level--& I'm not sure how much that upgrade costs).  They also cannot be tranferred among rooms or used to pay for your room.  You either use them on the alloted services or you lose them.

We used the Vacation Dollars for the spa, the salon, golf & tours.  My guests & I loved the Vacation Dollar promotion--it's especially good for any golfers in your group.  You might can talk more people into coming to your wedding by telling them about the great golf course they can play for free!  I played golf 3 times, my DH played twice, we both went on two tours & we used $300 towards the spa & salon--we did all that without paying a penny.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
