There is a recent post of a review from a bride whose wedding was March 2010. She got married on the beach. 'Sorry that I can't remember her name...PM her, she's probably a great resource.

are you guys choosing to have the ceremony on the beach or in the wedding gazebo? i personally am leaning towards having it on the beach but i'm concerned about things like the weather (too hot, too windy?) and walking in heels on sand. anyone have any suggestions or advice?

I have seen some pictures of ceremonies held on the beach and they all look amazing...so I think I will probably shoot for that. SouthernSweetie, you made a good point about rain...so what I was wondering is that I know you can relocate inside if it does happen to rain...but is that something that needs to be booked with your WC before hand, or do they automatically account for something like that happening? I mean would they book 2 weddings at the same time but in different locations (one on the beach and one in the gazebo?)

Hey I am looking to book a wedding in Moon Palace in April. I also contacted them for rates. Does anyone know if they work with you on rate or if they are flexible- and if they do, whom do I contact. I am also a member there but am trying to figure out if it is cheaper to book this way or through group rates. Any help is appreciated!!

It's my understanding that they make rain preparations for the outdoor weddings. I saw a recent review of a bride who married in the gazebo while it was raining. I'm pretty sure that it is enclosed with glass of some sort. Maybe the rain back-up plan is only for the beach weddings and outdoor receptions...it's a great question for the WCs. I will add it to my collection of WC questions. (I started a thread recently soliciting WC questions from past and present MP brides.)

Thanks Julie, I was just wondering about the room rates not exactly the wedding package. They aren't flexing at all on those rates and they are sooooo high!! (I figured with 30-50 people coming they would give me a reasonable rate).

One bride who was married in the Catholic chapel told me she was glad she had chosen that b/c it was covered and enclosed, she didn't have to change the location of her wedding because it was raining. All the brides with beach weddings had to have their ceremonies inside the banquet halls where they had moved the outdoor receptions.

I guess that it depends on how picky you are...I've heard mixed reviews about the video quality. The one negative thing that I've read pretty consistently is that the editing is not exactly smooth. Some brides laughed about it and others did not think that it was cute.

The two things that I refuse to compromise on are photography and food - especially the cake. I am definitely a cake snob. For me, an outside videographer will depend on whether I have extra funds after I pay for the must-haves.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
