Have you checked out the facebook group?  There are several picture on there, Brendali just posted a bunch of pictures from her wedding at the wetbar.  $500/hr reception is not dinner just wanted to make sure you knew that! We are doing the semi private dinner at steakhouse followed by the reception at the wet bar, I don't think our guests will be bothered by moving.  Have you decided on a photographer?

Here are a few links with photos/video:

I am using them too. I will tell you how that works out. Went for the cheapest package and thought I would just buy more if I liked any.

We aren't using the resort photographer... pictures are very important to us and so we had a lot of trouble deciding on a photographer!! We went with Katya Nova, she is absolutely amazing and both FI and I fell in love with her work!!! She works with her Fiance and I love that we will have 2 photographers capturing multiple reactions at the same time.  The outside photographer fee is a little ridiculous but you have to do what you have to do I guess!  I am starting to realize that the MC/ME have a lot of silly extra fees for everything surrounding weddings... OH WELL!!!!

We all make our lists of whats important to us. Private dinner was very important to me and the decorations. I hate the thought of spending my wedding day posing and taking pictures for hours when I want to spend it with my friends and family. I figure everyone in my group has a camera and they can take pictures too. 30 minutes is my max of wanting to take pictures and even then- it will be of the group and a couple of the two of us.

SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP, ANYONE!!!!

I am getting married at the ME in 3 weeks and have MAJOR MAJOR concerns.... My WC quoted me a few months ago at $760 for a package for 40 people and is now telling me that it's $1000 for 40 people and $19 extra per person, so that is $1190 for the same pacakge that she quoted me at $760.

The reason I got a quote was to BUDGET for the wedding and now they are telling me it went up $430 in a matter of NO TIME. I want the price honored because THIS is what they sent me!!! It wasn't like I am getting married a year from now, it was 3 months before my date.

This is not the only thing too, it's A LOT OF STUFF... plus she gave me a provisional quote and she charged me 46% is taxes... PLEASE HELP.... If anyone is getting married within the next few days, weeks, or over the summer at ME or MC please send me your provisional quote... I am about to lose my mind.... Please e-mail me at nbrittell@Hotmail.com. I'm desperate and am about to have a breakdown--- how do I handle this and has anyone handled this before and gotten the original price you were quoted at--- I HAVE EMAILS (FYI)

Thanks for ANYONES HELP!!!

  • 1 month later...

Hi Jessica-

we are booked for Sept 2, 2011 and had similiar concerns. I wanted to make sure we didn't ask too much of our wedding party since they were already spending so much money to join us for the wedding. Instead of doing rentals, that would cost $150-200 plus the inconveinance of pick up and returns, we picked out khaki pants from Banana republic. we also looked at GAP and JCREW, but Banana Republic had relaxed fit khakis for our more generously cut groomsmen. My fiancee also picked out a white button down from kohl's and sent everyone the item numbers. The men's outfits cost less than $80 and they look great. To pull the whole thing together, we took care of their belts and leather flipflops as their gifts. My finacee's suit is a grainy tan, does not match exactly to the groomsmen and he will be wearing a tie. the contrast looks nice.  We are getting married in 3 weeks and made this selection last week. I will send you pictures when we get back...GOOD LUCK! It will work out, don't worry

Semi Private dinner is at the steakhouse or sea and sea and it is FREE for 60 people (or $10 a person if more than 60).  You are in a restaurant with other resort guests but are set back and your dinner is at one long table

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
