Majestic Elegance

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies,

I will be getting married at the Majestic but on the Colonial side February 4th 2012.  We are having a beach ceremony at 3PM followed by Dinner at 6:30PM (semi-private at the steakhouse) and then a private reception to follow at the Wet Bar.  We could not justify the private buffet dinner though we would prefer a private dinner and reception.  We have heard good things about the "semi private" dinner at the restaurant and figure we will make our own fun!

I have heard that if you are doing your dinner at one of the restaurants ("free") that you can't also do your rehearsal or welcome dinner there but I could be wrong.  On the facebook group the ladies were saying the buffet dinner was great because they put the whole group in a private section and everyone was able to eat what they wanted so that may ease your minds a little.  Would love to hear what past brides have to say!

Hi

It really all depends on what you want and what you want to spend. The buffet is almost 70 dollars a person but you have total privacy or you can have it in the steak restaurant or the Sea and See and its pretty private also. I decided on the private dinner at the wet bar. With the group of people coming- I thought they would like it more. I am not doing the open bar. I am just paying for extra bottles of alcohol. We are wine drinkers so I didn't see the point of doing an open bar. You can always have your reception at the parrot bar or wet bar after the dinner. Happy I got the wet bar though- in case it rains the Parrot bar isn't covered.  Good luck in planning!

Getting married at the Majestic Elegance on June 26, 2012.  Already confirmed the date and time, 4 pm (I originally wanted the 27th but only had a 1 pm option).    I will probably only have around 10-15 people attending as well, mostly family.  I'm trying to decide whether to have the dinner at the restaurant (not private) or have a private dinner outside. What do you ladies think?

We did book the cocktail hour with the WC. you can have it at the lobby bar or Sea & See restaurant terrace, and you just pay for any appetizers you want.  my cousin is doing our photography, she is a photog for Hot Topic in LA and since she's family, they won't charge us the $300.

Are you looking for the private reception and dinner or jus the reception portion?

We are getting married at the MC, having the dinner at the steakhouse and then private reception at the wet bar in February.  It is $500 per hour for 40 people, this includes open bar, sound system, tables and chairs with basic white linens and obviously the space rental.  If you want more information let me know and I can email you what I have.  It is for the MC not the ME but I think they are similar if not the same!

Hello Islandbride8

Congrats on your upcoming nuptuals.  Our wedding date is May 7 2012, and I too have the early 1pm Gazebo ceremony with a dinner at the steakhouse.  My FI and I were talking about a cocktail hour between the ceremony and dinner at the bar lobby.  Would you happen to have the info in regards to appetizers & their prices??

Getting married June 29 at ME and we have 12 people including bride and groom.  Our ceremony is at the gazebo at 1pm (boo, wish i could have a later time), cocktail hour at lobby bar at 2:30, dinner at steakhouse at 6:30.  those are the only "planned" events we have.  after the cocktail hour i want us to get some group pictures, so that'll prob take some time.  oh, i almost forgot... after dinner we are going to go back to the gazebo with our Ipod and speakers for our first dance and father/daughter dance.  not sure where the night will lead us at that point.  i'm just going to go with the flow :)  i'm pretty sure the only "dance" club is the disco and it opens at 11pm.  you could go to the piano bar or somewhere else where they play music.  i'll let you know when we get back how it all turned out :)

Mandy did you do the "private party" for $500 an hour after your dinner?

I will post links to the pictures of the tables below.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
