Playa Del Carmen Restaurants

Recommended Posts

On 5th ave again... 100% Naturel. It's all outdoors if I remember correctly and is all covered over with beautiful trees, flowers and plant growth etc. You might almost miss it walking by on the street! We went for dinner one night and lots of places have strands of lights up everywhere and its just so pretty! My friends had some pineapple shrimp bowl and said it was absolutely delicious (I had heat stroke and don't think I even ate anything - chugged about eight two litre bottles of water though LOL!). Our waiter was amazing and even put up with our ridiculous attempts to learn the spanish names for everything on the table! He sat down with us for a while and laughed hysterically as he tried to teach us things like "this is very hot/spicy" or "a large glass of juice please" and simple phrases like that.

If you look on Trip Advisor you can do a search for PdC restaurants and get lots of reviews there as well. I wish that we actually knew the names of a couple other places that we ate because they were really good!

International Food

Alux

This is a restaurant that emerges within the depths of a naturally formed cavern, so you’ll find yourself surrounded by stalactites and flow-stones as you sit down for your meal. This original restaurant specializes in Pre-Hispanic, Mexican and international cuisine. If you have only one night to go out and must pick one spot, we say this one.

Chester Es Pasta

Another local's favorite, here you won't get a menu (you have to stand and read it off the wall) and you'll be encouraged to leave your cell phone behind so that you can have a nice conversation. The food comes in BIG portions and the natural shakes are great. Family oriented!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
