Blood Tests required in Cancun Hospital before wedding

Recommended Posts

My daughter and her husband had a clinical," legal ceremony at home and a meaningful, oceanfront ceremony in Mexico. There are just too things that can go wrong and many opportunities for a vulnerable couple to be taken advantage of when navigating through the legal requirements in a foreign county and getting the correct documentation.

There is no doubt that Mexico is where the commitment in marriage took place, but they know everything is in order at home.

My husband and I were just married in Mexico and he usually has a really hard time with people finding his veins when they take his blood. We requested someone more experienced and for the first time in his life the guy doing it got it on the first try!! Doing a legal ceremony in Mexico isn't anymore of a hassle than doing it in the states. In fact, it was all done for you and all you have to do is show up!

I can see the hesitation in doing a legal ceremony in Mexico, believe me I thought about it! But, so many people do it and almost all the resorts are so used it also, that it's now second nature for them to get the paperwork and have the right documents ready for your big day.

My advice is if you are still considering whether or not you are going to do a civil ceremony in Mexico is to not worry about it and just do what your instincts are telling you to do.

My fiance and I would love to have our wedding in Mexico, but I am very skeptical about the blood test. I have read so many reviews on here about some going ahead and having the blood test and others not. My concern is the cleanliness....I don't want to go to Mexico and contract some infection or disease from it not being sanitary. Our wedding would either be at one of the Palace Resorts or Hard Rock Cancun. Our parents are members to both. Does anyone know if these resorts have the clinic on the resort? Also, if we have a legal ceremony, is it performed in Spanish? We speak English and I have read comments about the ceremony being in Spanish. Thanks for any help!!!!

The standards for cleanliness are the same as anywhere in the world...

Have you read any reports about it being otherwise?

When we went, the syringes were brand new, unopened until it was time to draw blood.

The nurse came to our condo and was very friendly and professional and it was all over in 15 minutes.

I really didn't think it was a hassle at all and don't know where this information about it being so complicated comes from.

My brother in law went to the Hospiten outside Playa for his arm (broke it playing in rough water) and said it was one of the cleanest hospitals he has been in and that he has never had better service.

You have nothing to worry about.

As for the ceremony, yes, a legal ceremony will be in Spanish. Your planner or justice of the peace will provide you with the script in English as well and you are welcome to have a friend or family member read along. It was very romantic and felt authentic to us...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
