ummm....thats it for now. lol

And, thank you!
They have a small gazebo setup on the beach that might work. The chapel there is another option. It is beautiful inside and out. I am sure that if you asked Sandra, she would be able to get a set up going just about anywhere on the property for you. We did see a wedding right by the quiet pool while we were there too.

The beach is rocky in some areas. The main swimming area was hard to get into without water shoes but once you go out about 5 feet it is all sandy bottom. I thought it would be a lot worse than it was from the reviews I had read.

James' bachelor party is all day tomorrow, so I plan on getting all my last minute things done (hopefully), then shopping on Sunday for a swim suit and cute clothes for the trip. Oh it's coming so fast!!
Lisa, did you get the fan tags that I posted yesterday?? they were sooo simple to do ~ I am not very computer oriented...

Hi !

I will be getting married at Dreams Tulum in December. It will be a very small wedding. We are 8 adults + 2 kids (my 2 daughters - 4 and 5)

I actually still don't know what to do but at least my date and time is reserved so I can always decide once I am there which package I want but for sure, it will be a beach front wedding ! ! !

My only concern is which photographer and videographer to take... Some say the one they use at the resort is great but you only get 36 pictures... You must add 350$ if you want the CD of all the pictures taken (he said about 200 pictures). Then there is an extra 440$ if you want 30 more prints + proofs. It adds up very fast since the Ultimate wedding package is already 2400$ ...

Does anyone have pictures made by the photographer of Dreams Tulum?

If I don't take him, I will take either Claudia's team member Cit... or Michael Maurus...

Martha, I think Dreams Tulum sounds beautiful and honestly I visited Iberostar Lindo in June (it's where I got engaged!) but was NOT impressed with their beach wedding setup. The "aisle" that you walk down is completely devastated by the hurricanes and provides a very ugly backdrop for the ceremony site. Unfortunately there's nothing they can do about this because it is government land and the mangrove plants there are protected so it's up to the gov't. Then the location on the beach is right next to a plastic blow up boat stand which they will not move. Every pic I saw had those boats in it. The WC said "oh you just have to tell your photog. to center things better". Pssssh! The other thing we didn't like was how HUGE the resort was. You really had to plan out which activity you wanted to do when because it took forever to walk places. Other than that it was a beautiful resort with lots of things to do but my honest opinion was that it was not fit for a wedding. Oh and we also didn't feel too confident with the WC Luz (She seemed pretty timid) or either of the concierges we were in contact with. They were no help to Martin when he was trying to set up his proposal. sad.gif

I feel bad saying all this but since you are reconsidering I thought I'd throw my .02 out there... ban.gif

Thanks for all your input ladies and Jason!

I actually do NOT want to get married ON the beach...I think I am the only one! lol

We are still trying to decide....the reason I loved Iberostar was because it is so affordable and because they have so much to offer. But, we do have 2 people going that have really bad backs and I dont want to make the walk around the resort or to/from the beach too rough on them.

Ah..decisions!

Where in the Lindo/Maya were you planning on getting married? Over the pool, or in one of the courtyards?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
