I'm the same way - love shopping for them and keep thinking of things that would be cute, not to mention my major VistaPrint addiction, but what has stopped me from buying anything else is realizing i'm going to need one entire suitcase just to get the stuff to Jamaica, and then put them all together once we get there.

After I put my Hangover kits together and saw how much work just those took, I realized i needed to stop...I have everything I need for them and I'm done...smile124.gif

I definitely understand! It is sooo easy to get carried away with these things! At first, I had a huge lists of ideas. Then, I basically decided to just buy the welcome bags and make a mini welcome book and buy the rest of the stuff in Maui...local Maui treats. I think the guests will really enjoy that and it'll give them a nice Hawaiian welcome. Good luck! wink.gif

LOL I remember this feeling. What makes me wish I reeled myself in was the fact that ALL of our bags were over weight and we almost didn't make the flight because of the fact that I was obsessed with my "stuff" I wouldn't agree to throw anything away. There are heavy airline restrictions for weight these days. So I say PLEASE check your airline restrictions and follow them because there are some EVIL gate agents that don't care if the Queen of England was getting married..they will veto your bags lol.

Oh thats a scary thought...putting so much time, effort and money into the OOT bags and then to have an airline weight restriction veto them! Lucky for me we are paying for our three kids tickets and they will each have a baggage allowance...I imagine I will be packing all of them into one big suitcase and using the extra two for wedding stuff. That might be worth the price of their tickets alone!

It is hard to stop buying for the OOT bags because you can find cute stuff all over the place!! But BDW member Echo sent me a PM with a good point...try to find stuff that has some sort of value to the guests other than just cheapy filler stuff! I'm waiting for the $1 old navy flip flop sale and have a few more things to purchase and then I think I will be done!

I completely understand....I feel like I want to buy more sometimes and then I remember that we need to drag everything down there. Today i bought a box of those cool wooden fans at Michaels....and I love them. Then i got home and looked at the box and thought...."Sheesh, just more stuff to weigh my suitcase down with" LOL

I totally understand! I have been going back and forth on items and have decided not to add stuff that I thought was a necessity at first! I would try and eliminate things that your guests really don't need. For example, I was going to put mini suntan lotions and realized it was silly because everyone will be bringing there own bottles, so the extra weight it's worth it. Hopefully your family can take extra items for you so you can bring everything you want! Good luck!

Girasole...where are you from in PA? I'm moving back to PA in may! I totally understand, FI is so irritated that i keep adding stuff to the OOT bags, but I can't help myself either. I've decided i'm not adding anything to them now, though. I'm forcing myself to give them to our guests early, so I am not allowed to add anything else! Plus I won't have to worry about extra weight and space on the plane, as well as no custom issues!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
