Hawaiian wedding for 5K?

Hi everyone! My fiancee and I want have a small wedding (10 guests or less) in Hawaii. Our main problem is that we only have a $5K budget for the ceremony, reception, accommodations for our guests, and airfare for for two of us. Has anyone ever planned a budget wedding in Hawaii before? I'd appreciate any recommendations to any venues, florists, photographers, etc.

We haven't set the date yet so we're thinking May when everything is cheaper.

I definitely don't have unlimited funds for my wedding :)

So I have done a lot of searching for good deals...

trying to find nice/fun things/places for good prices.

With only 10 guests or less, I think you should be able to stick to your budget...

My biggest problem was getting the reception costs down - once you have more than 25 guests, menu prices get expensive (have you use 'banquet' menus or 'buyouts').

I'm not sure how much your flights will cost - I ended up getting flights for $500 each for my FI and I in June (not all of my guests have had this luck yet). The small wedding packages through wedding planners are pretty reasonable. I'm using Deanne with Precious Maui Weddings (Maui Weddings Hawaii Wedding Packages Hawaiian Weddings Planner) - her prices are very reasonable. She had pretty basic packages that were cheaper than other planner's. I would definitely reccommend her! Then you just need to be carefull on your room... The price for rooms ranges from low to very very high! What part of the island are you hoping to stay at and have your wedding? We are staying near Lahaina for our wedding. All of our guests are staying at the same timeshare - they found timeshare owners to rent a week from. My FI and I actually caught a 2 day sale at the same place, so that worked out great. My guests all found rooms for great prices! After that we are staying an extra 5 days. I did a lot of internet searching for good deals. Almost always cheaper to get a room somewhere other than the resort's website.. We pricelined a place in Makena for a few nights and then searched every site there is for a nice place in Wailea.

If you have any other questions, let me know.

I can share the process I've gone through to find great deals :)

I also worked with Deanne from Precious Maui Weddings and felt that her prices were reasonable throughout. She communicated with me for months from afar and when we arrived in Maui contacted me to make sure that all the loose ends were tied up. On the wedding day itself, everything (flowers, cake, champagne) was presented beautifully. I would recommend her to anyone out there who is looking for a relatively stressfree wedding day!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
