HELP!! Addressing envelopes -I want to use printer, but technically challenged!

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies!!!

I am a little stressed about addressing my envelopes, I really do not want to handwrite them. I will only have like 35 invites, but I am just too OCD to write them. I am worried about the technicality of printing my own. Do I use word? Can I add a design or a maybe a dingbat that matches my invites? Can I print my RSVP envelopes also? Should I use a laser or injet printer? Will my printer eat them? Does anyone have any advice they can offer?

I bought the Avery clear address labels for my invites and printed them on my inkjet printer. Here is a link to the labels I used Easy Peel Clear Address Labels. You can buy smaller quantity packs at Office Depot or Staples. Word has templates for the Avery labels. I did a mail merge to put my addresses from an Excel spreadsheet onto the labels in the Word document. You can search the help menu in Word on how to use label templates and how to do a mail merge. I suppose you can put clipart on the labels too, but I just chose to do a nice font.

I used the word labels format as I started gathering my addresses and bought the clear labels....just printed them out this past weekend and they look great! I'm so glad i went this route b/c my writing is horrible on envelopes! I look forward to using the labels again come Christmas!

Good luck! it's not difficult to use at all!

I used a printer for my travel brochure envelopes, too. Just feed a trial envelope through once or twice to see if it goes through okay and that the type is where you want it to be. I also second the poster who said use Word and use the letters and mailings function- just make sure that you specify the size of your envelopes and it works really well. Good luck!

The printer doesn't usually destroy the envelope. There may be a mishap or two but for the most part it goes pretty smoothly. Once you set the printer to the size of the envelope and you put in the information, its just as easy as hitting print. It may take a trial or two to get your info exactly where you want it on the envelope but after you have that, it's smooth sailing. Good luck

I think I am going to use the clear labels as well. I have seen them on envelopes and they really do look nice and not so obvious that they are printed on a label. Also, it's a good tip to just start a label document and add the addresses as you get them, that way you aren't completely overwhelmed and have to put a ton of addresses in at once. At least this kind of thing works for me. I only have about 24 to address but for people that have lots this would be helpful.

If you do want to print right on the envelope, you shouldn't have any real issues if the printer settings are set up properly.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
