Girl I undertsand what you mean!! People always wait for the last minute just to get the best deal. But really, how much of a difference will the airfare be? I had my TA set up a group booking on a flight giving people an opportunity to put a deposit down now and pay it off later. You may want to check into that. If you need X amount of people to book the group flight, that might give people more incentive to book now.

Ohhh!! I have been to that resort and it was GORGEOUS!!!! Great choice. I saw a wedding there - mind you it was small, less than 5 guests, but it was so elegant and I didn't even know the couple but I was so happy for them. The ceremony looked so intimate and personal.

It's been at least 5 years since I've been to the resort but I'd go back for sure! I even looked into it for my wedding but the cost would have been too high for our guests. The costs were so worth it, though, it's such a beautiful place. Antigua is amazing too. If you get a chance, Half Moon Bay is a great place to go snorkeling.

That's the most frustrating of all!! I did have it arranged for a great group rate with my TA but a bunch decided they wanted to go with their own TA because they felt they could get a better deal (which they didn't!) and the other bunch said they want to wait to see if they can get a seat sale. So we lost our group rate and now we have to pay almost $100.00 more per person. Which in the grand scheme of things, isn't bad, but every penny counts, right?
I've just given up on the whole lot of them. I've given everyone the deadline of August. A few have booked but everyone is on their own now. I don't need the stress and right now, I'm just looking forward to spending a week in Jamaica with the love of my life and one of those days we'll throw a wedding on with whoever wants to join us. :)

Im on my way to not caring either. My TA just set up the group rate info along with a new payment plan for the resort. Im going give people to the end of this month to decide on what they want to do. If not, Im just going to send the invitations out and have everyone rsvp by July 1st. If I dont get the response I would like, then fine. I know the most important people will be there and really thats all that matters. This whole DW planning is truly stressful and Im not adding anymore to it! :)

I'm going to give it another week of searching every day (since rates change constantly) and if I can't find it that cheap again, then I'll just end up booking. I can't imagine how many guests are going to wait last minute, after already booking their hotel, to realize flight prices went up. Especially if a lot of us are leaving on the same day on the same flight, the good prices will be taken quickly.

On a personal note, my fiance promised me sushi tonight (I've been craving it for weeks), and he just informed me we can't go now because there's a basketball game on! I'm getting jipped, no sushi and I have to watch basketball. Time to make a martini hahaha
Hi Ladies I couldn't help but notice alot of ladies are waiting for fares to drop to there respective destinations and was wondering did anyone set up a discount code with the airline directly? I did it for my wedding group since my best friend is a travel agent he mentioned it since if everyone went through him he charges a fee. Basically you call American Airlines or whatever carrier ask for their group sales department and tell them you are having a destination wedding and need a discount code. Its only 5% off but it helps. From there all of my guests just looked at the prices and waited till they saw them at their lowest and booked with the coupon so they got the lowest price and 5% off of that low price. I know for my in-laws it was perfect they were having a hard time finding flights under $500 and one day they found some used the code and booked their flights for $420 roundtrip from IL. If you use a travel agent then they can offer the discount but of course beware cause some also charge a fee for using their services so it may work out cheaper the other way. Happy planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
