I've only heard good things about all Karisma resorts. I'm sure we both will have beautiful weddings. We would have chosen Azul if we were going to have kids because of their adults only section. Totally best of both worlds. It would have only been my 2 nephews though and my sister can only afford to pay for her to go so it worked out for us. This way she gets to enjoy some kid free time.

We wanted a really small wedding so lucky for us we didn't have to worry about invitations or anything like that. And everyone booked when we got our group quote so I've been pretty stress free in that department. Well other than my dad and his wife but I'm not too concerned about them. If they come they come but I have the important people booked and that is what matters. Are you inviting a lot of people? Can't wait to hear more about your wedding :)

Sorry this is the first time that I started to second guess our decision for a DW, I can deal with the stress of planning and the lack of response from wedding coordinators, etc. but did it make anyone else feel like what is the point of going crazy over this if no one will be there to enjoy it? Sorry to be a bummer.
I know what you mean Boo! My FI are currently arguing because the one person who HAS started looking into booking (his groomsman) he is discouraging from doing it and telling him to wait 90 days to keep an eye on flight prices. I was a little ticked.. why are you telling him to wait 90 days?! And over the simple fact that my FI has seen the flights for 40 dollars cheaper.. well guess what, your buddy makes great money and obviously doesn't care about the 40 bucks so stop it! ARGH!

But other than the groomsman it seems like nobody is really getting in touch with our travel agent and putting down a down payment.

OK, now THAT'S CRAZY TALK!! Tell your fiance he's crazy. If someone wants to book their airfare, let them!! haha We haven't booked our airfare yet, and I should have done it a month ago because it was $100 cheaper per person. I'm going to give it another week of searching every day (since rates change constantly) and if I can't find it that cheap again, then I'll just end up booking. I can't imagine how many guests are going to wait last minute, after already booking their hotel, to realize flight prices went up. Especially if a lot of us are leaving on the same day on the same flight, the good prices will be taken quickly.

On a personal note, my fiance promised me sushi tonight (I've been craving it for weeks), and he just informed me we can't go now because there's a basketball game on! I'm getting jipped, no sushi and I have to watch basketball. Time to make a martini hahaha

  • 2 weeks later...

Hey ladies! Its been kinda quiet lately. Has anyone made any progress on planning? I'm in the middle of designing my passport invitations with Ana de Roux. I didn't realize it was going to require so much work on my end! But I know it will be well worth it! I'm going to pick out bridesmaids dress this weekend, hope all turns out well!

Nice to find fellow November brides. I'm getting married Nov 12th at RIU Ocho Rios in Jamaica.

My colours are aqua and chocolate brown. I feel like I still can't do much because I have no idea how many guests to expect. Everyone is taking their time booking the resort because they are still waiting for seat sales on local flights. I'm giving them until August and if they haven't booked by then, well too bad! They can show up but I won't have an OTT or favour for them.

Other than that I do have the photographer booked and our flights are paid.

I just got my sample invitation. It turned out really good! I will post pics as soon I get my camera working. I think I will send them out in May (6 months) before. I didnt put a rsvp date as most people have already booked and I really just did them for tradition. when is everyone else sending theirs?

I was hoping to send my invitations by the middle of the month but my invitation vendor has been S-L-O-W in responding! It's so frustrating...

So now it looks like they probably wont go out until end of April/early May. I realize that's still early but our hotel has reserved our rooms only until the first week of July so people will have about 8 weeks to decide!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
