Getting married May 22nd at SRC - have questions like is photography necessary?

Recommended Posts

Lisa,

If your concern is that you won't get many pictures for the $1200, you might think about the $850 digital book instead. I've heard that you are allowed to pick 50-210 photos for the same price, and then you can get the same number of photos on the CD for $200 additional. It doesn't come with a DVD like the $1200 package, but you would have more photos. Also, the album isn't a padded album with prints that slide in - the digital photos are printed directly on the pages of a hardcover book, and the book's cover itself is a photo that you can select.

I'm thinking about this option now since it seems like you get a little more for your money - My FI is insisting that we wait until we get to the resort or get closer to the date to make a decision though on what we want to do just in case our budget changes (up or down).

I agree with sweetiecat. I was informed the same thing, that if you buy a digital album, you get 50-200 pictures, and you can purchase those same pictures on a CD for $200 additional. I too am waiting until we get down there to book any photography. I had heard stories that if you book ahead, you can't change your package.

Photography is SOOOOOO important! I am spending more than 50% of my wedding budget on the photography. We are blowing a wad to bring in one of the most world renowned photogs to Playa. Think about it......

It's the ONLY thing you will have to truly remember you wedding years down the road.

What's the point of even having a beautiful wedding if you don't have great images to remember it by?

Sorry, I'm biased. But ask any woman who did NOT get good images and chances are she is sick about it.

i decided to bring friends who are photographers. i did a barter deal with them. they are staying at the resort for 3 nights and in exchange, giving me 8 hours of photography! it all worked out for the best and turned out to be cheaper than the packages.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
