I registered at Home Depot ( we just bought a house)
Crate and Barrel ( For people who like getting nicer gifts)
Target ( For Practical Gifts)

If you register for items with a different prices, people can buy what they feel is approprate. So you don't have to worry about feeling odd. Who knows, co-workers or parents friends might want to get you something too.
Totally agreed. We were in the same position but only registered at Macy's. Whoever wanted to buy something did buy it, but those who did not were not forced to. I also put quite a bit of a range in item prices on the list so there were things that were $15 all the way up to $250.

Exactly!!! Most people WANT to get you a gift, even when you tell them that they don't have to. I argued with many of my guests about it and then just gave in because I did not want to seem ungrateful. I did let them know upfront that gifts were not expected from them due to travel costs. Some guests did not give a gift, others gave very generously and everything in between. I made a small registry and it was sufficient enough for those who wanted to get something. My and my FI's family gave cash since we are both non-American-born and traditionally money is given for weddings :) Here in the U.S. is it considered rude so a registry is a very good idea IMO.

We were not planning to, but then I thought we would start a small registry for those situations others mentioned above - nothing too extravagant. Of course, now the DW may be off so we're going full-steam ahead with the registry. wink.gif

We registered almost a year before the wedding. We only did this because my parents gave us an engagement party and many family members started asking where we were registered. I'm glad we did because some family and friends have given us gifts off the registry for my birthday and Christmas gifts.

I feel the same way as many of the others, where I do not want to seem greedy, however I know the majority of those invite will not be able to attend and I know my bridesmaids are planning on throwing me a shower.. So, we are going to at least register at Bed, Bath & Beyond. I'd love to register at Target, but because I live in such a small state (without a Target), I don't think I will do that...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
