Hey hun, Real Touch flowers are actually "fake" flowers but they aren't silk they actually look and feel like the real thing..they are actually very popular for destination brides since down south in the heat and humidity real flowers tend to wilt very fast when in a bouquet out of water..so Real Touch Flowers are are great alternative and plus you can bring them home with you and will look just as gorgeous on your 25th wedding anniversary as they did on your wedding day since they last forever! Hope that helps!

Ok I have my real touch bouquets and was planning on carrying them on the plane with me.  Well my BM pointed out something today so now I need some advice from past brides who've done this.  My bouquets have straight pins in the stems for the ribbon....which I'm sure TSA would be big fans of.  So now I'm not sure what to do.

So did any of you carry on your bouquets like this and was it an issue.....or what's the other alternative. I'm scared to put them in our checked luggage!

I put all three real touch bouquets, complete with the straight pins decorations into one carry on suitcase. Went through security without any issues. We didn't have any questions on the way home either. I even had an extra box of the pins in the suitcase.

I ordered real touch flowers from afloral.com and assembled them myself. At the last minute, I added some rhinestone stephanotis to the BM bouquets. And the day before our wedding I had the resort florist take apart my bouquet and add fuchsia roses.

I'm worried about the same thing.  Not only do the flowers have wires in them, I have straight pins holding my ribbon in place!!  I feel like with the crack downs with TSA, if you just get the wrong person, they may refuse it!  I'm not sure what I would do if they did??

I like the idea of putting it in the bottom of my dress garment bag though too.

Regardless...my aunt works with silk flowers and she said a little hairspray or spray starch and a hair dryer will help to get rid of wrinkles and help you place your pedals the way you want them if they get messed up during travel.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
