Any one work with Pastor Rick York??

Recommended Posts

I know Pastor York gets rave reviews and, given that, I plan on contacting him regarding our wedding.

However, I'm wondering.....is he the only option for a minister in the Punta Cana area?

I'm one of those annoying anal retentive, overly analytical, has eight different spreadsheets for everything types of people. I like to figure out all the options for every single decision and then weigh them all against each other to make the best decision for my situation. Basically, I'm a dork (lol) and feel odd that when it's coming to the minister it appears I only have one option and, thus, have no pro and con list to make. Plus, I'd like to know if there's a backup in case Pastor York isn't available.

Wow... can you imagine how much money he is raking in? Good for him, sounds like he deserves it.

My wife and I were married in April 2009. We had Pastor York perform a religious ceremony following the legal ceremony conducted by a local justice. That is the one factor I would be mindful of if I were you - you must have a legal ceremony in the DR conducted by a judge if it is not a Catholic ceremony.  Ours was beautiful with the required components up front and a lovely ceremony officiated by Rick following. He put a lot of real thought and consideration into our ceremony and was nothing but a pleasure to work with. Rick truly made our day a special one, and I could not recommend him enough to anyone. He is a truly remarkable person and a very articulate / eloquent pastor.

I was told by a TA, to use caution in having a Civil Ceremony in DR becuase you can run into a lot of barriers. I was also told that you have to pay almost $100 per page/documents (needed for marriage) to be translated in Spanish. Does anyone know if this is true.

At Christy: I was in contact with Rick York about 2 weeks ago and he mentioned that he was going on vacation for a month. He did say that he would periodically be able to check his email. So, if you don't hear from him right away, that's why:)

It's not all that bad.  If you use WEDO the cost is $300 total (provided you have never been married before).

Sometimes TA's are just that - TA's.  Some of them know very little about the actual wedding details.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
