Weight Loss support for 2011 brides!!

Hello All, I am a bride losing weight. I've lost so far 12lbs in 13 weeks, using an app called MyFitnessPal on my iPod. They have a website as well if you do not have an apple tool. Basically it will give you an idea of how many calories you should consume per day for your goal and allow you to record your daily intake. You can search for items, including restaurants, input recipes, as well as input activity as well. I try to do at least 30 minutes of cardio everyday, and in the begining had also added a 20 minute circuit workout - like jillian michael's 30 day shred - when I get home, and have had amazing success. I think by doing the FOOD and the exercise, you can all reach your goals! I tried just concentrating on eating well, as well as just on exercising, but you really need a combination of both. As well, you need to know how many calories your food is as well.

DEFINITELY check out MyFitnessPal.com (its a free website and app). It WILL work!

Thanks for the advice- I cut out dairy a few months back but I think upping the protein might do the trick- I haven't been getting much protein lately. I'll keep you up dated.  :)

Of course, if you're already within a healthy weight range for your age and height, it's going to be harder. You may already be doing this but if not and since it's temporary and you only have a few lbs to lose, try going low carb and high (LEAN) protein. Keep all your carbs to oats, All Bran, and veggies/fruit (sweet potatoes are ok, too). Be very careful with your dairy intake, make sure it's skim/fat-free. A lot of people are horrified when I tell them to try eating this way but 1) it works and 2) this is actually a very all-natural way to eat and forces you to eliminate all of the processed crap that we all eat constantly without even realizing it. Goodluck!

I am in exactly the same boat as you -- I have until June 18th to lose 7 lbs...  Which doesn't seem like a lot but it is SO hard to lose when you are already in a healthy weight range.  My dream is to feel good about being in a bikini!!!  No cover-ups!  79 days left!!!

Any support or advice would be great, i've been on a weight loss " diet" or " way of life" or " eating healthy" .. for just over 2 months. I've lost 22 pounds and my goal is 50.. I have until December however I thought I'd better start early in case I reach and plateaus or downsides. I find that when I workout .. I don't lose as much or don't lose any pounds ... my body gets muscular fast... I'm eating a lot of small meals often... seems to help... !

Wow...I'm so glad I found this thread! This is exactly the kind of motivation I've been looking for!  I'm getting married in January 2012 and would ideally like to lose 20-30lbs prior to the big day! As someone who often works 80+hr weeks, its super tough getting to the gym, but I'm going to try to do at the very least some cardio 4-5 days per week.  I also recently started eating a low carbohydrate and higher lean protein diet.  The first two days were tough, but now I'm feeling great! And after just a week and a half, my clothes are fitting a little bit better!  Here's hoping I can keep it up....for the next 9 months! :)

So I ordered my dress in first week of  November, well after going thru the holidays I went to try the dress on when it came in last week of January...it did not fit! it didn't zip about 3 inches, my dress has no beading or anything so they said I could wait till last week in MArch to be fitted....4lbs away from goal weight, my fitting is tomorrow, here is hoping the dress fitsundecided.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
