Hi, I'm new to this forum I am going to try and read all of it this week if possible to catch up with you. I also want to lose 15-20 pounds or maybe just 15 LOL but I have avoided dress shopping too because I don't want to buy a dress and then be in a totally different size. I have put off shopping with my friends telling them it' about money and timing but really I'm just insecure right now. All my friends have amazing bodies and look great in everything and it's my day to shine not their's. Is that evil or what LOL

I did the same thing..my sister is a size 2 and my mom a 6...I was a 12. I waited until I lost the 1st 10 pounds before I would go dress shopping. I have now lost about 15 and hoping for 5 more. Don't worry about having the dress taken in..they ordered mine in a 12 and I'm not an 8...they can take it in. Just go when you are comfortable.

Hi Ladies,

I know something that will work for everyone is you seriously want to work HARD. Try the INSANITY workouts by Shaun T Fitness / Beachbody. I did it last summer, not routinely, and lost 10 lbs. Of course you have to do so while eating healthy and everything. But I am telling you I was TONED. I am going to do again this summer before my wedding in September. But I have to warn you, his workouts are INTENSE. I mean like I've been a competitive athlete my entire life and I struggled with his. But the results are totally worth it :)

Let me know if you have any questions. I would check Amazon for his DVD's.

I totally hear you about skinny friends and family! Growing up i was always so much skinnier than my sister's and now one of them is a size 2 and the other a size 6 and my bridesmaid looks like a super model!!!. I was slowing getting to my goal weight but have not been able to exercise for the past 4 days as i have bronchitis, such bad timing i leave in 4 days! Just went to the gym though and i have lost another pound in the last week not great but not bad considering i had my bday last weekend and i haven't exercised!! 4 pounds of my max goal weight :-(

Ok...has anyone ever had a "sugar hangover" before??? I had one for the first time ever today and let me tell you, it sucks!!! For the past three months my fiance and I have been really disciplined with our weight training and "eating clean" routine. Last night, I finally caved to a chocolate craving...actually, I justified it because I'm still losing weight and at this point, I need to stop because my wedding is less than 2 weeks away (Yay!) and I certainly don't want my dress to be too big!! And I'm totally eating enough! Weight training really revs the metabolism!! Anyhoo, I had like nothing in the house resembling sugar except for a bag of chocolate chips I use for baking. Well...(you can imagine what happened next), like a true addict, I didn't stop until the entire bag was gone. Normally, prior to 3 months ago, this probably wouldn't have fazed me. However, HOLY CRAP!!! I had a serious sugar crash around 2 am and my body even woke me outta my sleep to tell me about it and I tossed and turned the rest of the night. When the alarm finally went off, I had a headache, was thirsty as hell, groggy, and nauseous and most of those symptoms have lasted all day...it feels exactly like I drank an entire bottle of tequila. I always thought sugar or junk food hangovers were urban legends...until now!!! Wow...just goes to show - processed sugar and fat really IS toxic to our bodies!!! sick.gif

Haha I haven't gone long enough without sugar to experience that ;)

Congrats on reaching your goal, and being so close to your wedding!!! GOOD JOB!!!

I have been using Jillian Michael's videos to workout and have found them intense. However, out of curiousity and not wanting to get bored, I t ried one of the Insanity workouts (Cardio Power and Resistance) and it made me sweat more than any other exercise ever has, even Jillian! And I couldn't even do al lthe moves yet, which is good becaus it means I can continue to use this video for the next while. I loved it because he actually does give breaks (unlike Jillian) bu I felt like I worked out way harder than any other thing I've ever done!!! The last 13lbs is so hard to lose!

I agree. Insanity is VERY intense and yes you do sweat more and you burn more calories. You burn anywhere from 600 to approximately 1,000 calories. There are days that I'll go out for a 6 mile run. But days that i'm not in the mood to run, I do Insanity instead. I always try to mix it up so I don't get bored with the videos. With Insanity, there's no getting bored and no matter how many times i've done the same video..... I can't go through the whole thing without taking an extra break here and there. LOL

I know my friend is a fitness model and gorgeous, I never could figure out why brides put their bridesmaids in such ugly dresses now I know why LOL I have been contemplating it tee hee!!!

If she wasn't so darn sweet I probably would. Sounds like you have done pretty good considering the sickness and your b-day. I'm sure you'll look gorgeous :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
