ladies I have been off track on this one for awhile, got sick twice! Wanted to update though lost 7.4lbs...6.6 to go! Hope everyone is on track...steer clear of the easter candy aisle...damn cadbury creme eggs get me everytime!

I am a Nutritional Cleansing Coach and have personnaly lost 4 sizes and kept it off for 4 years. Recently I have helped 2 girl friends, Babette lost 76 pounds and Rachel lost 8 sizes. They are both healthier than ever, have more energy, sleeping sounder and have reduced effects of stress. Diets don't work, you start and stop them.  Just a couple tips, start including more alkaline foods/spices in your meals, drink approx. 1/2 your body weight in ounces of purified water daily. Hello Ladies! 

 

I am getting married in October of this year, and have already started my weight loss journey.  I have lost 15 pounds, and have about 40 more to go. 

I know it sounds like a lot, but I just gained a crap load of weight over the past 2 years....and need to get this off already...what better motivation then a beach wedding!!!???

I am currently being trained by my personal trainer fiance...he has me doing circuit training, and intervals.

I am hoping to be able to get out my frustrations on here, and share my weight loss successes.

You had probably lost water weight from not working out and then having alcohol.  When you came home you were probably dehydrated and the lbs you had "lost" was just some water that was no longer in your body.  Sorry.

 

And for those saying who cares what caused it...you lost 4 lbs..... COME ON!!  Really??  Is all that you girls care about is the number on the scale?  That has absolutely nothing - NOTHING - to do with the composition of your body and how healthy and fit you truly are. 

 

Lisa - as you said you have gained muscle and definition.  Well if you truly gained muscle than you would weigh more than what you started at since muscle weighs more than fat.  If you really gained muscle and definition you should be happy with how you look and feel and be excited that your body changed in a positive way.

Hi sxcT,

Yes, I'm well-versed in exercise and nutrition, and I'm a former athlete, so I do realize and appreciate the muscle weight that I've gained.  And I think I'm speaking for many of us when I say that the number on the scale shouldn't matter, and we've all heard that it's "how you feel and how you fit into your clothes."  But it's hard to ignore the scale when you have a goal in mind!  I love this thread because we can vent without feeling judged.  I actually found what happened to me as funny in a sarcastic way... loosing weight sucks and there will intrinsically be highs and lows.  The most important thing to me is continuing with my goal and putting one foot in front of the other no matter how frustrating the days are.   In the meantime, I will continue to laugh my way through it, and hope for the support of all of the ladies in this forum!

I am glad you understand that weight doesn't mean much.  It just seems silly to me that most woman have a goal weight.  As you said its how you look and feel - not the number on the scale.  But I guess some just really need to see that number move.

 

Glad you are still motivated and you didn't let that get you down.  Keep up the hard work.

I'm sorry if I offended you with my comment which was said with humor. I understand you're very much into the whole health thing and have strong opinions about it. I'm not caught up in the whole numbers game because i'm not thin, however, i'm a muscular, fit, curvy girl. I could never be 120 lbs. However, I do want to go down a few pounds. I was just trying to cheer on a BDW sister to keep her motivated.

well I am down 5 pounds and still feel the same and my clothes feel the same so i really dont care about the scale however i do weigh myself more for some sort of tracking measure since i am not going to measure myself every week. I dont freak out though if the scale doesnt move but if you have a lot of weight to lose then the scale really is a feel good thing :)

Sorry if anyone was offended by what I said.  I just feel bad for those of you who are working very had but only looking at the number on the scale and thinking that means you made progress or not.  If that is what you need to go by then that is fine but I was just hoping to enlighten ppl to the fact that a scale does not take body composition into play so the number has no value.  You can weigh 180 lbs and look like a lean, mean muscular machine....or you can be 180 lbs of flab and giggling jello.  That is what I would like some to understand.  For those who do get it great...just trying to help out those who are stuck with a number in their head.
