Crazy that a drink mix can do that to you!! Wow!! You did a lot!! LOL I've stepped up my cardio and eliminated some foods from my diet to see if that makes a difference. I need to start shedding these darn pounds. My future brother in-law is a personal trainer and he said to take your desired weight and multiply by 10-12 per calories per day. Example: 160 (lbs.) x10 (Cal)=1600 calories per day, amount of calories you should be consuming per day. So if your goal weight is 120 lbs, you should consume no more than 1200 calories per day. He also said your carb intake per day should be between 50-75 grams. He said no more than 75 grams, being the highest. We'll see how this works out for me because i'm starting to get a bit impatient. LOL

Diamond Girl, I need to get ready for our BD shoot!! Where do you live? We should meet up at a park and for a long walk in the spring :)

Wow!! 10lbs in 7 days?!?! That's freakin awesome!! Did you get the book? would you have recipes to share? If you continue eating well and keep up with the personal training, You'll be ready before summer!!

Yes, I also am prepping for the BD shoot. I've stepped up my cardio and eliminated some food choices from my diet because I was apparently consuming too much carbs. LOL We'll see what happens after this revision.

I live in the town of clarkstown in Rockland County, borderline NJ. I also spend a lot of time at the Jersey Shore from spring, throughout the summer. I have a beach house there. That sounds like a plan!! We can do lunch and chat :) Where in NJ are you?

Hey ladies - a word of warning for those of you working out at the gym:  especially during these winter months, wipe down the equipment BEFORE and after you use it.  I caught a nasty little cold last week and my only thought is that I got it from the gym because no one at home or work is sick.

I read in an article (about whether you should work out when you are sick) and they said that during your workout and the hour after a good workout your immune system is weaker - so anything you come in contact with during a workout has a good chance of doing some damage.

Hope this helps someone stay healthy this winter because no bride to be wants to lose out on a weeks worth of workouts and weight loss (like I did msncry.gif)!

I found this recipe on "protein pancakes" in a fitness magazine. At first I was a bit skeptical but I decided to try it out and it's pretty GOOD!!

Nutrition score per pancake: 260 calories per pancake, 3g Fat, 25g protein

Protein Pancakes

(makes six)

In a bowl combine 1/2 cup of rolled oats, 1/2 cup fat-free cottage cheese, 1/2 cup egg whites, a teaspoon of vanilla extract, and a pinch of cinnamon.

Take a non-stick skillet, spray with cooking spray and heat up. Pour 1/4 cup of batter in at a time to make 1 pancake. Cook 2 minutes per side, or until lightly browned. Serve with a drizzle of agave nectar and fresh berries (blackberries, blueberries, etc...)

It smells great while cooking and it's very filling :)

I put these pancakes in the refrigerater, wrapped in foil, and take them with me to go.  You can also use this recipe to make muffins...just up your cottage cheese and oats...add in whatever fruit you like...and up the egg whites to about 9-10.  Add whatever spices you like and some agave nectar or splenda.

I just found this site!  What a great find!  I'm getting married May 7, 2011- and hope to lose 15lbs by then-  I really just started after the holidays :( (not a lot of time) To start off I did a detox, and now I'm just trying to stick to eating lots of veggies and lean protein while sticking to a workout regime- hopefully I stay motivated, but I think this site will help!  Congrats to everyone on their weight loss so far!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
