Well, I still exercise regularly! It's how I'm able to maintain the weight loss. I do yoga, swimming, core strengthening, and weight training. My exercise routine developed over time with the help of my chiropractor. I have a lot of chronic pain and these things help. For example, I have terrible knees, so I can't run but swim instead. Yoga keeps my back and shoulder pain at bay, as do the core and weight stuff. Variety is the spice of life! Helps keep me from getting bored.

I will say that losing weight is hard!!! and when you don't see results right away it can get discouraging. But you have to look ahead...think about those 2-3lbs you lost every week and think about how your body is gonna look in your dress. That's how I do it...lol I bypass how I look now and think about how i'm gonna look a year from now after all the working out. As long as you do something then you should be good. I lost 3lbs in a week...y'all have no idea how i'm feeling!! In less than a month I lost 9lbs!!!! So if I can do it...anybody can do it!!! you just have to do it!!!!!

Well said!!!!!!!!!! Sometimes when you look at the amount of weight that needs to be loss it can seem hopeless. But if you can picture yourself with your dream dress on it makes it so much easier.

I give myself small goals make it more realistic!

I don't want to lose weight but I do want to lose inches and tighten up my body and get some flatter abs. I will need all the support I can get because I have never exercised in my life. I started doing Jillian Michaels a couple of months ago and I am not at all good at sticking to my schedule. This is a great thread. Thanks for starting it up.

Over a year ago, I lost 60 lbs and I've been able to keep it off. I lost the weight over 13 months (avg ~1 lb a week). My best advice is just stay focused, watch your portions, and go slow! My philosophy is that the slower you lose it, the more likely it is to stay off b/c you've learned along the way what it takes to be healthier. It's all about portion control and exercise. There were certainly weeks where I gained weight, and it can be hard not to get discouraged. But weight fluctuations are natural, and as long as the overall trend is the way you want it to be, you're doing great!

Oh, and don't deprive yourself either! If you want that piece of pizza, then go eat it! Just only have one piece, or balance it with a salad, or pair it with some exercise. If you deprive yourself you're only going to want it more and more until you finally cave in and then OVERindulge.

Just my two cents. Good luck!!! smile159.gif

Thank you for the great advice! It is so nice to have somewhere to go to discuss our weight loss goals. I have struggled this past week, but I am back on track. I hope spring is on the way soon. I'm sick of the winter blues! I'm hoping to do a 5k or two this summer as motivation to work out:)

Good luck with the 5k!! Not being a runner myself, I'm awed by those who run. And good job getting back on track!

Agreed! I don't run unless I'm being chased by someone with a knife cheesy.gif
I played soccer most of my young life, until I was 17, and then just got in the cycle of being a lazy-bones. I REALLY need to find something I LIKE doing and stick to it! So much easier said than done.

I was EXACTLY the same way. I found the Couch to 5K program on WW board and decided to give it a try. For anyone that's interested in running I would suggest giving it a try. Just start slow and re-do week's if you have to!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
