Postcard Guest Book

Recommended Posts

Well what I was thinking of doing is putting postcards with a pen and a note in a little bundle in the OOT bags with one postcard with our address on it and stamped. The note will say something like thanks for being here for our wedding, in lieu if a guestbook we are asking our guests to fill in the pre-addressed postcard with some words of wisdom and wishes and mail them once you are back home.

I'm doing this too!

I printed some postcards from VistaPrint... I didn't exactly leave room for the stamp and address though... boo.

But yes, I'll need to announce that they must put them in one central spot when completed, or perhaps have one of the BMs go around and collect them.

Wonderful idea to have them already printed up. I'm going to actually buy a bunch of cards when we arrive in Aruba and display them in an album when we get home. One side of the card will show the postcard picture and the other side will show the guests message.

I found wording that can be used from the dw forum on Wedding Dresses - Wedding Cakes - Wedding Planning - Unique Wedding Ideas - By TheKnot.com. I've seen it somewhere else before but don't remember where it came from or who wrote it.

Our Postcard Guestbook: In place of a traditional guestbook, we plan to keep these postcards in an album to remember our wedding. Please take a postcard to sign and return to the table when you are finished. Feel free to share your advice and wisdom on love and marriage, your predictions for the future, or tell us about a favorite memory from your time with us. Thank you.

These are my inspiration pictures for this special project. Sorry if they are too small... it's my first time uploading pics on this site.

We are doing the same for our guest book. We will be assigning someone to take pictures of each couple as well and that will go beside the postcard in the album. Our cards are from Vista Print and we came up with this little rhyme together on our balcony last summer (over a bottle of wine!). Hope you like it...

Please share with us your marriage advice

Whatever you offer will suffice

Seriour or fun

We're in need of some

As now we are husband and wife!

The front of the card is a beach scene and we just wrote "Our Wedding", the date and location.

Perfect question and great answers by everyone! I was planning on doing the same thing - I've purchased the most amazing old fashioned Hawaiian postcards - but never thought about how to let the guests know what they're supposed to do with them! This was sooo helpful!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
