Woot! We're both May '08 brides, and we're both honeymooning in DisneyWorld! You've got great taste, my friend!! wink.gif

lol. We're staying off Disney property. We went to Disney two years ago (which feels like yesterday!) and we stayed at a rental home. It's actually a bunch of townhouses that are rented out. It's called Regal Palms, and it'll easily save us $500+ during our two week stay. I found a weekly rate of $690 for the townhouse. It's awesome because you've got a washer/dryer... yes, I know laundry on holidays suck, but it came in SUPER handy for us last time, it's got a kitchen and living area. We looked into staying at one of the Disney resorts, and it got a bit pricey for us.

Having said all of that... we did do our research ahead of time. I have once before stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort, which was amazing. It was so relaxing and yet still had the Disney charm and fun - and there was TONS to do there. It's sort of a mid-priced resort. I guess it depends what your budget is like. You can go anywhere from $100/night to like $600+/night! lol

I don't think you can really go wrong. I actuall was there two years ago (it does feel like yesterday courtney!) and we stayed at the cheapest resort we could, which was the Disney All Star Sports Resort. We were going last minute, and staying cheap... and to tell you the truth, I loved it. It was fun! Not sure the room was up to par with HONEYMOON... but it was comfortable and afordable. We were able to spend more money on going to the parks.

we went in november and we stayed at the hilton lake buena vista, which is on disney property but not owned by disney. it was on the less expensive side, and perfect b/c it was right across the street from pleasure island and downtown disney. my sister just went in april and stayed at the contemporary ... said it was nice, but i didn't get more info that that...we also have friends who stayed at the animal kingdom hotel (can't remember name) - they loved it, but i can't imagine staying there ... you get on a monorail that comes from animal kingdom it smells like elephant poop, let alone stay in a hotel around there?!!?

either way, i'm jealous - disney is SO much fun!

Awww... I loved the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I thought it was so beautiful and I never once smelt elephant poop. Maybe I did and didn't realize it because it's not every day you recognize the smell of elephant poop.

If you don't stay there, you must at least check out the resort. It's too beautiful too miss! The Savannah view is awesome!

DUH it would make sense if it was called the animal kingdom lodge.....idk, my friends loved it and didn't mention poop, so maybe it was just the monorail!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
