I am losing my mind with this early booking bonus crap...

For a week in Oct. for Dreams Palm Beach if payed in full by march 10th will be $1362.25 after that it goes up to $1662.25!!

What do I do? How do I tell people there is a whooper of a price hike if they can't shell out by March?

Do you think it will go down again if I wait for a different promotion?

Hi,

I had the same dilemma a few weeks ago. I'm getting married at Dreams Palm Beach in November 2010. We have to pay everything in full by March 18. Everyone also had to make a deposit by February 11. My travel agent tried to push the early deadline for may, but couldn't do anything since Dreams is offering this promotion.

All of our guests were aware about our destination wedding before Christmas. However, no one was prepared to pay everything this early. It's mostly our family members who decided to book now and not wait for better deals. Four of our guests decided to wait and see if the prices would go down closer to the wedding.

Personnaly, I didn't want to wait and knew we might pay more for booking this early. I wanted to make sure that we would get married on the day we picked.

If you are willing to wait and want to get married on a specific day, contact Melani, the wedding coordinator at Dreams, in order to make sure you can get married.

Hope this helps a bit.

Cheers

I went through the exact same thing too! We ended up putting up an evite, getting people who were ready to commit their deposit and even though Sunwing wanted the full payment within 2 months, my TA was able to negotiate out a payment plan. We ended up paying 3 deposits of $150 and then the full amount is due next week, which is 60 days before departure.

However, they gave us some leeway on the payments because they switched the flights around on us and this was their attempt to keep us from cancelling.

The price of our trip went up a bit and then down a few weeks ago and now back up again, so it's hard to say when to book, but in reality, because it's your wedding, you can't really gamble and watch the prices too much.

I looked at that resort as well, and that sounds like a pretty good price to me... although, my pricing was for April and Oct/Nov tends to be cheaper.

It has been my experience that waiting until the last minute may not only product higher rates, but the hotel might sell out. THis is what heppened to some of my guests. They waited until the last minute hoping for deals only to have the resort sell out the month before my wedding. Good luck with whatever you choose.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
