Hi! Thanks for the welcomes! No, we haven't picked a resort yet. We are hoping to go this year in Feb. to check out a few and then pick. I have been looking through travel guides and websites, but it is so hard to pick!! I have also contacted a travel agent. The most important thing for us it to have it  somewhere that our families can afford to come. The travel agent said Cancun is the best bet then....we will see!

I understand completely the affordability part.  I have been leaning toward the Maya Riviera/Cancun area myself.  For those looking into this same area what resorts have you looked at?  I looked at Karismas, Palace, Sandos, and Blue Bay.  The resorts are all over the map lol but I just don't know if I have found the perfect one yet.

I have started working on our monogram, but FI has been making it difficult since he wants to help and put in his input.  Which I am happy he wants to help, but it is slowing things up.  lol.  I have been taking from ideas I have already seen and combining them to make them my own.  We are designing ours in MS publisher and I am hoping it will be done soon so we can start on our save the dates.  I wanted to have those out by Christmas, but I don't think it's going to happen, especially since we have to do Christmas cards.  I have been wanting to take engagement photos, but won't do it until I loose some weight, and we want to put those pics on the STD's as well.  It may be awhile, but I will share the monogram when I get it done.

Hello! I am a February 2012 bride. I am thinking about the Playacar Palace in Playa del Carmen.. but now I'm hearing things about it and I'm not sure. I would like to be in the Playa del Carmen or Tulum areas... but I'm open! I love that there is a forum to chat about destination weddings -- there's so much to consider. Nice to meet all of you! :)

Hi everyone!! I am so excited to see that there are some 2012 brides out there!! Yeah! We have our date set for April 6 2012 at Dreams Cancun!!! We are so excited!! I hope I can meet another bride that will be out there the same time!! We all have what seems like forever till the day is upon us. We are actually going out there in April for a vacation! Super excited!! Happy planning to all of you!!

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
