My fiancee Steve and I just got engaged a couple of weeks ago. We are looking at Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. I am already overwhelmed at the options and the idea of planning so I decided to join to get more information and advice from other brides. Nervous about the planning but know I need to get a move on it. smile41.gif

Welcome to the forum, it's super helpful. Good luck with anything. I'm getting married (that still sounds so weird) in Punta Cana in December of 2010, if you have any questions, I'll try to help, but you can really find answers to pretty much EVERY THING on this forum.

My FI actually chose Punta Cana which surprised me. But after finally getting him to sit down and look at my weeks of research on resorts all over the Carribean and Mexico it was the one he liked the most AND it's the on that got back to us the fastest. There are three resorts that never even got back to us. So we went with it.

 

We found out a week ago, that a friend of a friend was there a little over a year ago and that it's their favorite resort (and they've been to a lot) so that made us happy.

 

At the end of the day, we're just taking a leap of faith because we can not afford to take a trip down to check it out. Good luck.

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

      Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
